摘要 摘要 克里斯托夫马洛，英国文艺复兴时期一位才华横溢的剧作家，其戏剧创作正如日中 天，然陡然陨落，实为英国乃至世界文学史上一大憾事。然而马洛以其几部气势磅礴， 起伏跌宕的剧作在英国文学史上留下了光辉的一页。他的思想充分代表并反映了英国文 艺复兴时期的思想主流人文主义。然而马洛的人文主义具有独特的内涵。他笔下的人文 主义者不顾人类能力局限，起码不顾人类所能取得成就的局限，永不知足，不可为而为 之。在他的剧作中，都表现了狂热追逐权力的大人物，他们分别追逐统治权，金钱占有 权或满足占有知识的欲望。因此马洛戏剧主人公充分体现了他们的设计师马洛的人文主 义思想。马洛笔下那个不可征服的帖木耳大帝，雄心勃勃，君临天下；博学多才的浮士 德博士，睥睨生死，穷宇宙知识之极限；那个马耳他的犹太人巴拉巴斯，利欲熏心，巧 取豪夺，尽揽天下之宝藏。马洛笔下的这三个大人物都体现了马洛不顾人类的能力局限，
