摘要 对于维多利亚时期的研究 无论在史学还是在文学领域 都是非常重要的课题 其 重要性不仅在于英国人这一历史时期中所取得的成就 也在于这一时期的特殊性 即英 国意识形态从传统转向现代的起承转合时期 在诸多转变中 本文将集中讨论英国社会 在维多利亚时期的道德风尚的变化 然而 道德作为一个抽象概念 很难用一句话来明 确的定义 因此在本文中 作者将集中考察 在维多利亚时期小说中和社会分级中的新 型阶级 即下层中产阶级人物的道德状况 借以考察这一社会转型时期的道德状况及其 变化 本文分为五个部分 引言为本文的第一部分 首先 简要总结了国内外学者对维多利亚小说和社会分层 问题的研究状况 尽管关于维多利亚小说的研究著作和论文众多 但是在国内 对这一 时期英国下层中产阶级人物的研究仍是十分匮乏的 而国外学者的研究成果尚不够系统 完善 并且往往忽略了人物道德与人物的阶级出身之间的关系 其次 阐述了本论文的
