有关翻译中归化和异化翻译策略的理论 自从为奴提第一次提出以来在 翻译界中 直存在着争议 人们倾向于将这两种策略对立起来 片面主张采 取其中一种策略而否定另一种策略 本文采用了杨氏夫妇和霍克斯的 红楼 梦 h o n g l o um e n g 两个英译本做对比分析并发现杨氏夫妇的译本对文化 因素的翻译大多采用了异化策略而霍克斯的译本则偏重使用归化策略 杨氏 夫妇与霍克斯在选择翻译策略上的不同实际上是由其不同的文化背景 翻译 目的以及读者取向所决定的 在杨氏的译本中 除了异化法之外 还使用归 化法 注脚 和意译法来做对异化策略的补充 而霍克斯除了使用归化法之 外 也在其译本中技巧性的运用了补充法 异化法以及增译法 即通过补出原 文所没有的内容去更完整地解释译文无法传递的文化信息 研究表明 杨氏 和霍克斯在翻译策略上的不同选择 最终是由其不同的文化背景
