Such topic is very useful to students. Its helpful to raise learning interest of all the students.教材分析Functions: Talk about what you used to be like. 1. I used to be short when I was young. 2. Did you use to have straight hair? 3. Did you use to play the piano? No, I didnt。 4. I used to be afraid of dark. 5. Did you use to be afraid of being alone? Talk about appearances -Mario used to be short. -Yes, he did. Now he is tall. -Did you use to have straight hair? -No, I didnt Talk about personalities -I used to be really quiet. - I know. Now you are very outgoing. Talk about experiences -Did you use to play the piano? -No, I didnt, -Did you use to be afraid of the dark? -Yes, I did. 教学方法 Teaching Methods: Listening & practicing conversation Teaching Tools: Tape recorder, some old photos Teaching Design: Period I (Section A: 1a, 1b, 1c, 2a, 2b, 2c) New function presenting Period II (Section A: 3a, 3b, 4) Practice Period III (Section B: 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, 2c, 3a,) Vocabulary building and Integrating skills Period IV (Self Check: 3b, 4, 1, 2) Self check Period V (Reading: Section 1Section 4) Reading comprehension Vocabulary: chew chat afford cause waste insect gum comic death patient decision attention candy airplane daily. Teaching Aims and Demands 知识目标:Knowledge Objects Talk about appearances and personalities. Talk about experiences. Listen, and write the comparison between the past and now. Talk about what you used to be like B. 能力目标:Ability Objects Enable the students to talk about appearances and personalities. 情感目标:Moral Objects Enable the students to deal with changes correctly. 教学重点Teaching Key Points: The structure “used to ”and its negative and interrogative forms。 教学难点Teaching Difficult Points: The structure “used to ”and its negative and interrogative forms。 教学过程 Teaching Procedures : Period 1 Teaching Steps: Step 1: Lead-in We have been together for over two years. Do you remember what he was like before? /in Grade One? What does he look like now? Compare two or three students or teachers. Let students tell something about their appearance or personality. Write “He was short in Grade One . But he is tall now.” Today we learn a new sentences “ He used to be short. But he is tall now. ” Step 2: explain “used to be/do” “He used to play computer games every day. But now he study really hard.” Let students describe their partner. Please use “used to do /be” Step 3: Deal with activity 1a Turn to p10, lets look at (1a). Please write down the words as many as possible. if you want to know others appearance or personality, we can ask: “What does he look like?/ Whats he like? ” Now I want to know something about yourself. “Whats your change?” Please use “I used to ,but now I” Step 4: Deal with 1b and 1c. Lets look at the picture. and could you tell us what are their changes? Listen to the tape and do (1b) Step 5: deal with 2a and 2b. Listen to the tape and do (2a)and (2b) Homework: 1.
