Unit 5 Section B Do you remember what you were doing? 教学设计教学目标: 1. 知识与技能 (1) 掌握以下词汇与句型: 词汇: silence, shocked, take down, realize, recently. terrorist, completely, date句型:When, I/ he/ she was While I/ he/ she was, (2) 复习when/while在过去进行时中的用法(3)能通读短文, 掌握短文大意, 了解马丁路德金被暗杀和“911”这两大历史上的重要事件(4) 能正确捕捉听填信息中的信息点,提高听力能力(5) 能在阅读短文中找出含有when/while的句子, 并进行转换(6) 能了解近期国内外发生的重要事件(7) 能结合近期国内外图片及同学活动的图片,分别用when/while进行操练,描述当该事件发生时同学在干什么,培养学生的口语交际能力(8) 能结合自身经历,进行小组口头与笔头练习,询问组员难忘的重要事件以及该事件发生时组员、父母与朋友正在做什么、难忘的原因,提高学生小组合作与写作能力2. 过程与方法(1) 通过多媒体课件呈现含有when/while的句子, 让学生自行总结规律, 归纳when/while的用法(2) 通过播放两段视频,提高学生学习兴趣,让学生对两大历史事件有更为直观的了解(3) 通过设置阅读理解练习, 让学生提高对短文的理解能力,深入了解马丁路德金被暗杀这一历史事件(4) 通过设置听填信息练习, 提高学生的听力理解和捕捉正确信息的能力,深入了解“911”这一历史事件(5) 通过呈现近期国内外重要事件,让学生对这些事件有所了解(6) 通过呈现近期国内外图片及同学活动的图片,引导学生分别用when/while进行操练,培养口语交际能力(7) 通过小组活动,让学生结合自身经历,进行口头与笔头练习,描述组员难忘的重要事件以及该事件发生时组员、父母与朋友正在做什么、难忘的原因,培养学生的小组合作与笔头练习能力3. 情感、态度与价值观(1) 逐步培养学生关心国内外大事的意识(2) 引导学生懂得灾难不可预料,要珍惜当下拥有的美好生活学情分析:本节课是在阅读中贯穿when/while在过去进行时中的用法,前提是学生掌握了本单元的时态(过去进行时)和预习了阅读中出现的新单词,否则很难顺利开展此节课。教学过程: Step 1 Greeting&ReviewShow some pictices and some questions. Lead students to answer the questions with when/ while.T: Eirst of all, lets review the usage of when/ while. Look at the pictures and answer the questions.1. What was he doing when the rainstorm came? He was waiting for the bus at the bus stop when the rainstorm came.2. What was she doing when it began to rain? She was walking on the street when it began to rain.3. What did she do while she was reading? She fell asleep while she was reading.4. What did he do while he was talking on the mobile phone? He went out while he was talking on the mobile phone.5. She was cooking dinner while her brother was sleeping.6. I was watching TV while my grandpa was reading a newspaper.Show the six declarative sentences. Lead students to summarize the different usages of when/ while. Lets read the passage to know more about it.Step 3 Reading comprehension1. Fast-reading. (30 secs) Ask students to look through Para 1&2 and find out the answers. 2. Careful reading (2 mins) Read Para 1&2 carefully and choose the correct answers.Step 4 Lead-in1. Show a picture of the World Trade Center.T:Do you know this famous building?Ss: Its the World Trade Center.T: Yeah, it used to be one of the tallest buildings in the world. 2. Play a video of “911” accident.T: Can you guess what happened?Ss: The World Trade Center was taken down by terrorists.Step 5 ListeningAsk students to listen and fill in the blanks.T: Well, lets know more details by listening to the passage.Step 6 Post readingAsk students to explain what Robert and Kate were doing when these two accidents happened.
