In the last two periods, we reviewed Unit Five Nelson Mandela- a modern hero. After reading Elias story, we know Nelson Mandela was a great person. He led black people in South Africa to fight for their equal rights. They struggled to realize their dream of making black and white people equal. They even fought the government and were put in prison. People will always remember Nelson Mandela for what he did.Step II Warming up Q: If you are required to tell the story of a great person or someone famous, what do you think should be mentioned?Give Ss two minutes to discuss and then have them talk about their opinions.Step III WritingT: Now lets find out what is generally mentioned when we try to write a composition about a person.1. 人物简介的写作步骤1). Give Ss some tips on how to use proper sentence structures. 1. 概况 : 尽量用分词短语、同位语结构,使文章简洁,通顺译:钟南山年出生在广州,他是中国最伟大的医生之一1)Born in Guangzhou in 1941, Zhong Nanshan is one of the greatest doctors in China.2)Zhong Nanshan, one of the greatest doctors in China, was born in Guangzhou in 19412.外貌,性格: 巧用with做定语译:我的历史老师是个漂亮女人,她长着两只大眼睛,留着长发My history teacher is a beautiful lady with two big eyes and long hair.3. 教育经历:注意尽量用非谓语动词, 使文章精炼1)Majored in Science, he graduated from a famous University in the north and after 4 years, he went abroad for further studies.2)Graduating from the department of English of Zhongshan University, she went on further education and received a doctors degree.4生平:尽量用复合句倒装,非限定定语从句等,润色文章1)Not only is he interested in science, but also he has a gift for music.2)He set a new world record of swimming, which won a gold medal for China Team.5评价:注意运用一些动词、形容词等短语、词组1)Leifeng set us a good example ,so all the people spoke highly of him and all respected him .2)He is one of the greatest novelists in China and will be always remembered as an outstanding man.3)Lishizhen makes great contributions to Medical literature.3.
