四 本研究收集到的数据证实了l e e c h 的假设 在礼貌原则的 六准则中 谦虚准则并不常被遵循 与西方文化相比 东方文化更重 视谦虚准则 但是对l e e c h 的另一假设 即谦虚准则中的次准则b 尽 量多贬低自己 没有次准则a 尽量少赞扬自己 重要 本研究并没 有得到有力的证据 相反 本研究的结果却证实了顾日国教授的结论 自谦策略 即l e e c h 谦虚准则中的次准则b 在一定程度上仍然是中 国礼貌的主要表达方式 五 导致中美两国学生使用自谦策略异同有以下文化因素 第 一 中国人重视集体主义 而美国人崇尚个人主义 第二 中国家庭 教育强调谦虚内敛品质 而美国家庭教育侧重独立竞争意识 第三 因对谦虚内涵的不同理解导致中美两国人对自谦策略的使用及态度 有所差异 第四 在全球化背景下 因为不同文化的交流与碰撞 中 美两国人对自谦策略的使用及态度又有所趋同 本研究结果对外语教学有如下启示 1 在外语教学过程中 教 师不仅要强调语言知识 而且也要注重文化差异性的讲解 2 研究 者对礼貌现象进行跨文化研究时要充分考虑到文化的差异性 本研究的局限是分层抽样不能保证所选对象能够百分之百代表 全体中国人和美国人 另一局限是没有探讨自谦策略的使用与其它变 量的关系 比如性别 教育程度等变量 关键词 自谦策略 礼貌 中国文化 美国文化 m g z h o uu n
