These procedures contains the tasks includes:(1) Practice - Ground power unit .(2) Supply external power to the buses(3) Remove external power from the busesB. The tasks give steps to energize the ac and dc buses for maintenance or ground servicing. The tasks also give steps to remove electrical power from the airplane.C. The task that removes power gives instructions to move the BAT switch to the OFF position. WARNING: If you let the BAT switch stay in the ON position without ac power, the electrical power of the battery will decrease. The electrical power of the battery can decrease at a rate of 30 to 40 amps. At this rate, the battery will have no electrical power after one to two hours.WARNING: When the external air temperature is more than 100 (37.8), electrical equipment can become too hot. If you supply electrical power for more than 20 minutes, you can supply conditioned air (AMM 21-00-00/201) to keep the electrical equipment cool.2. Practice Ground power unit.A. General:1). There are 2 types of Ground power unit in service.2). The Ground power unit usually used to power DOR328 in ground.3). The Ground power diesel can serve to all types of airplane with its power matching the airplanes power.B. Procedures:TYPE: Ground Power UnitStep-1. Examine the external power supply cord and the airplane external power supply receptacle before you connect the external power supply to the receptacle. If you find excessive arc erosion, corrosion and heat damage or discoloration to the pins or receptacles, repair the problems that you find.Step-2. Contact cable to airplane.Step-3. Operate the unit to ready for service. (WARNING-1)Step-4. Supplied electrical power to airplane. (WARNING-2).TYPE: Ground Power DieselStep-1. Examine the external power supply cord and the airplane external power supply receptacle before you connect the external power supply to the receptacle. If you find excessive arc erosion, corrosion and heat damage or discoloration to the pins or receptacles, repair the problems that you find.Step-2. select the proper diesel with suitable electrical power for airplaneStep-3. Contact cable to airplane.Step-4. Operate the unit to ready for service. (WARNING-1)Step-5. Supplied electrical power to airplane. (WARNING-2, -3).C. Directions: WARNING-1: Operator should monitor the parameter of ground power unit .before it supplied electrical power to airplane.WARNING-2: Operator should monitor the parameter of ground power unit .during it supplied electrical power to airplane.WARNING-3: MAKE SURE THE EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY OPERATES CORRECTLY BEFORE YOU SUPPLY EXTERNAL POWER TO THE AIRPLANE. IF THE EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY HAS AN EARTH GROUNDED NEUTRAL, THERE MUST NOT BE AN OPEN OR FLOATING GROUND IN THE NEUTRAL CIRCUIT WIRING OF THE SUPPLY OR THE AIRPLANE. IF AN OPEN OR FLOATING GROUND IS PRESENT, THE AIRPLANE CAN BE PUT AT AN ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL ABOVE THE EARTH GROUND. THIS ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL CAN RESULT IN ELECTRIC SHOCK WITH POSSIBLE SEVERE INJURY TO PERSONNEL WHO CONTACT THE AIRPLANE. IF THE GROUND RETURN (NEUTRAL) CIRCUIT ON THE EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY OR THE EXTERNAL POWER RECEPTACLE DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY, REPAIR THE EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY OR INSPECT THE EXTERNAL POWER RECEPTACLE NEUTRAL GROUNDA/P TYPE: B737CL3. Supply External Power to the Buses (Fig. 201)ProcedureStep-1. Open the door for the external power receptacle.Step-2. Install the power cable.Step-3. Make sure that the BUS TRANS switch on the P5 panel is in the AUTO position. Step-4. Make sure that the STANDBY POWER switch on the P5 panel is in the AUTO position.Step-5. Move the BAT switch on the P5 panel to the ON position. Step-6. Supply power to the buses:Directions:WARNING-1: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS CLEAR OF OTHER PERSONS BEFORE YOU SUPPLY POWER TO THE AIRPLANE. HIGH VOLTAGES CAN CAUSE INJURIES.WARNING-2: REMOVE ELECTRICAL POWER FROM THE POWER CABLE BEFORE YOU PUT THE POWER CABLE INTO THE EXTERNAL POWER RECEPTACLE. ELECTRICAL ARCS CAN CAUSE INJURIES.WARNING-3: The NOT IN USE light will not come on if the refuel panel door is open.4. Remove External Power from the Buses (Fig. 201) ProcedureStep-1. Move the GRD PWR switch on the P5 panel to the OFF position.Step-2. Move the BAT switch on the P5 panel to the OFF position.Step-3. Turn the dc meter switch on the P5-13 panel to the TR1 position.Step-4. Remove power from the external power cable.Step-5. Remove the power cable from the external power receptacle.Step-6. Close the door for the external power receptacle.Practice Directions:WARNING-5: The electrical power of the battery will decrease, if the dc meter switch stays in the BAT position for too much time.WARNING-6: REMOVE ELECTRICAL POWER FROM THE POWER CABLE BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE POWER CABLE FROM THE EXTERNAL POWER RECEPTACLE. ELECTRICAL ARCS CAN CAUSE INJURIES.A/P TYPE: B737NG1. Supply Electrical Power (Figure 201, Figure 202)Procedure(1) to supply external power to the ground service buses; (WARNING-7) (a) Open the External Power Receptacle Door(b) Make sure the external power supply operates correctly before you supply external power to the airplane.1) If the ground return (neutral) circuit on the external power supply or the external power receptacle do not operate correctly, do this task: Static Grounding, (WARNING-8) (c) Install the power cable to the external power receptacle.(d) Energize the external power cable.(e) Make sure these lights on the external power panel, P19 are on:1) EXTERNAL PWR CONN2) EXTERNAL PWR NOT IN USE(f) Make sure the GRD POWER AVAILABLE light on the P5-4 panel comes on.(g) Push the GROUND SERVICE switch (P13); Make sure the light in the GROUND SERVICE switch comes on.(h) Make sure the EXTERNAL PWR NOT IN USE light (P19) is off. (WARNING-9) (2) Do these steps to supply external power to the 115V AC transfer buses: (WARNING-10) (a) Open the External Power Receptacle Door. (WARNING-11) (b) Make sure the external power supply operates correctly before you supply external power to the airplane.1) If the ground return (neutral) circuit on the external power supply or the external power receptacle do not operate correctly, do this task: Static Grounding,AMM TASK 20-40-11-910-801. (WARNING-12) (c) Install the power cable to the external power receptacle.(d) Energize the external power cable.(e) Make sure these lights on the external power panel, P19 are on:1) EXTERNAL PWR CONN2) EXTERNAL PWR NOT IN USE(f) Set the BAT switch located on the P5-13 panel to the ON position.(g) Make sure the GRD POWER AVAILABLE light on the P5-4 panel is on. (WARNING-13)(h) Set the GRD POWER switch on the P5-4 panel to the ON position.(i) Make sure these lights on the P5-4 panel go off:1) 1 SOURCE OFF2) 2 SOURCE OFF3) 1 TRANSFER BUS OFF4) 2 TRANSFER BUS OFF(j) Make sure the EXTERNAL PWR NOT IN USE light on the P19 panel is off.Directions:WARNING-7: IF THE EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY HAS AN EARTH GROUNDED NEUTRAL, THERE MUST NOT BE AN OPEN OR FLOATING GROUND IN THE NEUTRAL CIRCUIT WIRING OF THE SUPPLY OR THE AIRPLANE. IF AN OPEN OR FLOATING GROUND IS PRESENT, THE AIRPLANE CAN BE PUT AT AN ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL ABOVE EARTH GROUND. THIS ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL CAN CAUSE ELECTRIC SHOCK WITH POSSIBLE SEVERE INJURY TO PERSONNEL WHO TOUCH THE AIRPLANE.WARNING-8: REMOVE THE ELECTRICAL POWER FROM THE EXTERNAL POWER CABLE BEFORE YOU CONNECT THE CABLE TO THE AIRPLANE. INJURY TO PERSONS CAN BE CAUSED BY AN ELECTRICAL SHOCK.WARNING-9: The ground service buses energizes when the external power is supplied to the receptacle and the GROUND SERVICE switch is set to ON.WARNING-10: The ground service buses are energized automatically when external power is supplied to the 115V AC transfer bus 1 and the 115V AC transfer bus 2.WARNING-11: IF THE EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY HAS AN EARTH GROUNDED NEUTRAL, THERE MUST NOT BE AN OPEN OR FLOATING GROUND IN THE NEUTRAL CIRCUIT WIRING OF THE SUPPLY OR THE AIRPLANE. IF AN OPEN OR FLOATING GROUND IS PRESENT, THE AIRPLANE CAN BE PUT AT AN ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL ABOVE EARTH GROUND. THIS ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL CAN CAUSE ELECTRIC SHOCK WITH POSSIBLE SEVERE INJURY TO PERSONNEL WHO TOUCH THE AIRPLANE.WARNING-12: REMOVE THE ELECTRICAL POWER FROM THE EXTERNAL POWER CABLE BEFORE YOU CONNECT THE CABLE TO THE AIRPLANE. INJURY TO PERSONS CAN BE CAUSED BY AN ELECTRICAL SHOCK.WARNING-13: WHEN APPLYING 115V AC, 400HZ EXTERNAL OR APU GENERATOR POWER, THE STANDBY HYDRAULIC PUMP CAN OPERATE FOR APPROX 4 SECONDS AND MAY MOVE THE RUDDER AND THRUST REVERSERS. TO PREVENT POSSIBLE INJURY, MAKE SURE THE RUDDER AND THRUST REVERSERS ARE CLEAR OF PERSONNEL BEFORE APPLYING POWER.- END OF TASK -2. Remove External Power (Figure 201, Figure 202)C. Procedure(1) Task to remove external power from the ground service buses:Step-1 Push the GROUND SERVICE (P13) switch to off.Step-2 Remove power from the external power cable.Step-3 Make sure the: “EXTERNAL POWER CONN, EXTERNAL POWER NOT IN USE (P19)” lights go off: (WARNING-14)Step-4 Remove the external power cable.Step-5 Close the External Power Receptacle Door.(2) Task to remove external power from the 115V AC transfer buses:Step-1
