Chinas domestic insurance business covers four categories with more than 300 varieties, including property, liability, life and guarantee insurance business. Chinas insurance companies have entered the world market and foreign insurance companies have also flowed in rapidly. Chinas insurance market as part of the socialist market economy will undergo further development. It has the following characteristics: 1. Big potentiality of the insurance market With a population of more than 1.3 billion, the State currently is unable to provide sufficient social guarantee such as pensions and medical services to all citizens, so its necessary for the people to obtain overall coverage by taking out insurance.
