摘要 在海明威的这部名著老人与海中，原型的运用是巧妙而复杂的。这些原 型不仅是小说的源泉之一，也是作品艺术魅力不可或缺的一部分，更有效地凸现 了作品的主题。本文通过对原型根源的阐释、基本原型的挖掘，以及从多角度分 析原型在人类历史以及人类潜意识中的作用，进一步分析了原型对重要意义；并 在此基础上，运用原型的理论以及原型批评的方式对老人与海中的人物和结 构进行全新的解读，试图分析圣经、神话中的原型在小说人物中的体现。本文利 用原型批评方法对小说的叙事模式和主要原型意象进行了分析，揭示出正是这些 “原型 所隐含的普遍意义，激起了不同读者群对老渔民相似的情感，即他是一 个具有强大精神力的悲剧式的英雄。这些原型及原型结构增强了小说的深刻性和 艺术性，丰富了小说的内涵，使老人与海成为具有永恒艺术魅力的伟大作品。 在人类历史发展中，从原始的图腾崇拜到最初的神话传说以及其后希腊神话 的形成，从原始宗教的发展到影响西方意识形态的基督教圣典圣经，人类祖 先早在追寻生存、探求生命的过程中始终受到宗教的束缚和神话传说的影响，其 中许多人物形象和故事情节也反复出现于西方文学作品中，是“典型的即反复出 现的意象 ，也即“原型”。老人与海中的很多物象都有其原型。 本文试图从原型角度通过对小说中具体人物和角色的分析，具体来说即是对 “老人、“小男孩 、“大海 、“大海 、“马林鱼 ，以及一些情节等的分析来阐 释作品的价值和作家的创作意图。看到作家笔下的这些角色和物象的深层原型及 其给读者带来的感受和震撼力，进一步体会海明威通过作品及其原型呈现给我们 的人生中极具审美意味和悲剧意味的哲学之思，及其给我们以心灵的巨大震撼。
