人性的枷锁 是毛姆的代表作 带有很强的自传性 同时被公 认为现代文学的经典之作 小说讲述了主人公菲利普从小失去父母双 亲 寄居在当牧师的威廉伯伯家 以及孤苦伶仃的童年到徘徊苦闷的 青年最后找到人生真谛的这一成长经历 在此过程中 菲利普作为一 个独立的个体 遭受到人生的痛苦和孤独 体验人生的虚无 但菲利 普并没有放弃对生活的希望 而是正视生活的现实 进行积极的思考 和自由选择 在困境中以行动追求个人存在的价值 而存在主义哲学 研究的就是一种人的存在 一种自我的存在 一种作为意志行动主体 的个人的存在和生存 在此过程中 人通过自为的存在这种自我精神 和意识对自在的存在不断地进行否定和超越 并指导主体的个人在实 际的行动中 不断地进行自由选择 不断地超越自身 同时在对自身 行为负责的过程中获得真实的自我存在和自我本质 本文分为六个部分 第一部分简介毛姆生平以及 人性的枷锁
