I learn by studying with a group. 3.Do you learn English by reading aloud?Period 1Section AStep 1 ReviewHelp the students to review “通过方式做某事” in Book 2. “If you become a professional athlete, youll be able to make a living (by) doing something you love. ” “By” here means “靠.方式”, “以 方式”。Step 2 PresentationSay “We usually get ready for tests by doing things, such as doing exercises, reading books, asking teachers for help, etc.” Then ask “By doing what you study for a test?” Help the students answer the question by using “by”.Step 3 Practise Ask the students to read the phrases and say out the Chinese meanings in 1a. Then start to practice with the help of the conversation in 1c.Step 4 ListeningListen to the tape and complete 1b and 2a. Encourage the students to answer every question in 2a. Ask the students the questions like “ How do you study for a test? How do you learn English? How do you learn math?” etc.Step 2 ReadingBefore reading, ask a question to the students “How many students does the passage mention?” Then study the passage.Some point:1. Hes been learning.= He has been learning 现在完成进行时2. watch the actors say watch sb. do sth 观看某人做某事表感觉的一些词有类似用法:see / watch hear / listen to sb do sth (经常做或已经做) feel doing (正在做)例:I often hear her play the piano.I hear her playing the piano.4. end up (by) doing sth. 意思是“以做.而告终”例:Lets end up the meeting (by) singing a song.After studying the passage, complete the chart below it.Step 3 PairworkPractise the conversation by looking at 3b.教学反思 教 案 正 文 复 备Period 3Section BStep 1 RevisionReview the passage in 3a by asking questions, like “What does Lillian Li think is the best way to learn English? What about Wei Mings idea and Liu Changs idea? ” Then talk about the ideas of the students themselves.Step 2 PresentationSay “ You have so many good ways to learn English, but have you ever had any problems with English?”Write the problems on the blackboard. Then check the statement in 1a and add some other problems.A point:pronouce v. pronunciation n. 意思是”发音”Step 3 ListeningBefore listening, look through the challenges in 2a and understand them.Then say “You will hear a conversation between Paul and his teacher, Ms Mitchell.”Listen and check the learning challenges in the chart.2b. Understand the solutions in 2b and then listen again, then match the challenges in 2a with the solutions.A point:Practice “练习” n. 例:get a lot of practice v. Practice sth. / doing sth. 例:Do you often practice playing the piano?Step 4 PracticeLook at the sample conversation in 2c. First read, and then practice in pairs.Step 5 Exercises完成句子:1. He couldnt understand every word.b. He couldnt always make complete sentences.c. He found English grammar was difficult.Then study the passage.Some points:1. first of all = at first2. it doesnt matter “不要紧, 没关系” = Not at all. / Thats all right.3. I was also afraid to speak in class.be afraid to do sth “害怕做某事” 例:Dont be afraid to speak in class. of doing sth Dont be afraid of speaking in class. of sth “害怕某事” (that) 从句 “恐怕” Im afraid (that) he cant come now.Read the passage after the tape.Scan the statements below the passage and write “T” of “F”.Step 3 Writing3b.
