UnderthestrategyoftheChinesegovernment,Chinahasthreemajoreconomicregions:theeast,themiddleandthewest.Withitsadvantageousposition,theeastisthefastestdevelopingarea,leavingthewestfarbehind,andthemiddlesomewhereinbetween.Forinstance,theGDPpercapitaintheeastamountstoUS$2000,whilethatofthewestisonly40%oftheeast. Furthermore,thegapbetweentheurbanandtherural,aordingtotheStateStatisticalBureau,haswidenedtomorethan10years.Therearepeopleinthebigcitieswithlargehouses,expensivecars,otherluxuriesandbetteropportunities.However,therearepeopleinthecountryside,livingonmeagerfood,withoutthesecurityofhealth,education,andsoon. ThisisthediversityoftheChineseeconomy.Fortheunityofthefullnationaleconomicdevelopment,governmentsofalllevelshavedecidedoncorrespondingstrategies,forexample,thegreaterdevelopmentofthewesternregion,thecontinuingriseofthecentralChina,andthefasterdevelopmentoftheeast.Specifically,withinthewest,provincesalikehaveestablishedprogramsofdevelopment,withfinancialandtechnologicalaidofthecentralgovernment,ma-ki-ngfulluseofthewesternnaturalresources.Suchstrategieshaveturnedouttoberemarkablysuessful. Itremindsmeoftheworld.TherearewealthycountriesinNorthAmericaandEurope;therearepooronesinAsiaandAfrica.Theaidfromtherichworldisfarfromenoughtoremovepovertyinthedevelopingcountries.Therefore,withthehelpoffunds,technology,andmanagementfromwealthycountries,thesedevelopingcountriesnowhavetheopportunitytoestablishtheirownrightstrategiesofdevelopment,takingfulladvantageoftheirnaturalandhumanresources. Iftheirstrategiessueed,intheyearstoe,Ihopetoseesuchaworld:everyone,whiteorblack,brownoryellow,canstandsidebyside,equal,happy,andharmonious.Thereisdiversity;thereisunity.
