A Trailer of a film about a blind man and his guide dog. Watch the video. Touch the feelings between the blind man and his guide dog.Computer Step2.Presentation1. Prepare for the acting. Explain the two language points.2. Train the Ss intonation; get a better understanding of the character.3. Lead in the two phrases.4. To shadow forth what would happen next.5. Help Ss recite this paragraph.6. Analyze the mentality of the character.7. Get the result of the story and explain some language points.8. Train the intonation.9. Tell Ss to feel the beautiful things with our heart.1. Ask Ss to read the first part of the story: At the reception desk. Ask girls to read the words of the clerk, and boys to read the words of John. Then explain the two words: book and allow. 2. Ask Ss how John felt then? (Angry), then which words infer that John was angry? Make a demo for Ss, and then ask Ss to act the dialogue in pairs. Pay attention to the intonation, the clerk was very polite and John was angry.3. Ask Ss to read para6-9 to find how the manager helped John. Explain the two phrases: lead sb to somewhere, describe sth to sb.4. Ask Ss a question: What did John care about most? (Safety). Then ask Ss to find two sentences to prove that. 5. Ask Ss to read Para10-11, to find what happened next and what John did to save himself. Show some pictures and key words then ask Ss to retell this part.6. Ask Ss why didnt John dial 119, then lead them to read para12, and explain the words “dead” and “lay”. Guide Ss to find Johns feeling at that time, from worried to happy.7. Ask Ss to read the last paragraph of the text to find the result of the story. How did John catch the firemans attention? Did the fireman come? What was the problem?. At last, ask Ss to discuss in groups, what does “he” infer to in the last sentence, and why didnt the writer use “it”?8. Guide Ss to read the whole text in the right intonation.9. Share a famous saying1. Girls act the clerk and boy act John. Read Para1-5, and learn how to use the two words: book and allow.2. Answer the questions and act the dialogue in pairs.3. Read Para6-9 and answer the questions. Learn the two phrases. 4. Answer the questions and rewrite the sentences.5. Read and answer the questions, then retell this paragraph.6.
