unit 1 know yourselfcontent: reading1period:1teaching aims and demands:moral objects:during learning english, ss can know more about themselves and study harder.key points: the new vocabulary , phrases and important sentences about personality.difficult points: 1. to use some new expressions to describe ones personality2. to recognize and understand vocabulary about personality.teaching aids: tape recorderteaching methods: reading, writing, talkingteaching procedures:step 1. brainstormwrite down adjectives to describe personality as many as possible and explain some of them in english. then do b1on p10 and check the answers together.step2.skim and answer1. how many people are mentioned in the article?2. who and what are they?step3. listen and practicelisten to the tape and read after the tape. then finish part b2 and b3 on page 10 and 11.check the true or false exercises, ask the students to correct the wrong sentences.ask 2 students to fill in the table on the blackboard and check together.step3. read and answerread the four passages one by one and then answer the questions about each passage.para1: what does wu weis best friend think of him? why does wu wei always search for something new and different?para2: whats su nings last job? and what is she now? why did she give up her last job?para3: whats liu taos personality? is liu tao suitable for the job?para4: how long does fang yuan do operations a day? why do people in the town respect her? step4. read and retell choose one person to retell. teacher can give some information to help. invite four students to present. step5. discuss and present discuss with your partner about: your personality; the job you want to do and whether your personality is suitable for the job. ask three students to do the presentation. step6. homework recite the new words, key sentences and useful expressions. do the exercises. retell the four passages.二次备课:step 1. brainstormfor class 6,they will have a free talk about ones personalities to review thewords to describe personaliy. for class 3,sswill the step as left steps.step3.read andanswerfor class6, ss will readby themselves, for class 3,the teacher will lead readthe text first. step4. read and retellfor class 6, encourage ss to read and try to retell the text, but for class 3,get them to read it and try to understand the it better.step6. homework ss from class 3 will choose some easier exercises from them astheir homework.教学反思:to ss in class 6,they need to practise their oral english by retelling the text,encourage each of them to finish this task well.to ss in class 3, they need to learn the ways of reading,such as skim and scan.
