8b unit5international charities(comic strip and welcome to the unit) 【教学目标】based on the analysis of the teaching material, i have chosen the following as the teaching aims of my lesson: 1. 知识目标 学习“漫画”,了解不同的国际慈善机构的名称和它们的功能. 探讨如何才能更好地帮助贫困地区的人们.2. 能力目标 学生可以学习听、说、读、写4个技能,尤其是听力和口语 学生获得沟通与合作的能力.3. 情感目标 帮助世界上贫困的人是我们的责任. 如果我们能够提供一些帮助,爱将会存在你我身边.【教学重点】 1.向学生介绍一些国际慈善机构.2.学习如何使用“used to do sth.” 和 “be used to sth./doing sth.”的用法.3.教学内容:四会单词 international,pocket,further四会词组health care,pocket money,be used to四会句型im not used to going out before lunch. hobo,you used to be very kind to me.im so weak that i cant walk any more.三会单词leave, afterwards,education三会词组need money, have lunch, next to三会句型lets give it to them. be kind to sb. 二会单词restaurant, presentation, country二会词组more about, find out 【教学难点】1.重点词汇和重要短语.2.如何正确使用 “used to do” 和“be used to doing”的用法.3.如何提高学生的交际合作能力.三、教材分析1.教学内容:comic strip & welcome to the unit 2.地位和作用:这本书的目地是帮助学生在现实生活中沟通。本课程的主要目的是介绍一些国际慈善机构给学生,使学生在世界各地都知道如何去帮助穷人。. 学生分析: 学生已经学英语好几年了。他们已积累了很多基本知识,并渴望获得新的知识,通过对每一个国际慈善机构的介绍讲解,激发他们的学习热情,从而达到教学目标,在教学过程中,教师应该尽可能多的给予他们信息并鼓励他们积极参与课堂活动,使学生被动的“让我学”变成主动的“我要学”。.四、教学方法工具: 投影机、计算机、录音机、图片方法:任务型教学法、交流合作法、写作和活动教学法5、 教学过程 general idea: teaching important points are the names of the different international charities , to offer the suggestions, the things we can do for the charities. at last, retell the comic strip to check how well students have learnt in this class.step one. warming-up & lead in greet the whole class as usual and play a song.“we are the world” 【百度搜索】/box?v=0.004455474939860982&_methodname=mboxctrl.playsong&_argsvalue=18632217#loaded设计说明通过播放“we are the world”歌曲的音频,让同学们感受一下国际慈善演出现场的气氛,使学生在欣赏轻松愉快的歌曲时,引入本单元的内容,从而激发他们的学习兴趣和求知欲望。1. revision.t: we can help them in many ways. many charities can also help them. can you name some charities in china?s: project hope, project green hope, spring bud project and save chinas tigers.t: who knows any international charities(write on the bb “international charities” and teach the new word“international”)设计说明通过复习中国慈善组织引出国际慈善组织并进行适当地引导和解释从而提高学生的学习热情。2. explanationshow the pictures on the screen and present some charities around the world.a. orbis 奥比斯 an international organization that helps people improve their eyesight and prevent them from being blind. it also works to train doctors and nurses for many countries to cure blind people or people in poor eyesight.it works to help people who are unable to see.【百度搜索】/view/164279.htmb. oxfam 乐施会an international organization works to reduce poverty and injustice(不公正) in many countries. it can make our world become fair.【百度搜索】/view/460306.htmc. unicef 联合国儿童基金会 this organization works to make sure that children have basic nutrition, health and educational needs. it works to provide children with food, house, medicine and education.【百度搜索】/view/26842.html?tp=0_01d. world vision 世界宣明会 an international charity which raises money for development projects in poor areas around the world. it can help poor families and children. 【百度搜索】/view/164308.html?tp=0_00e. wwf= world wide fund for nature 世界自然基金会 this organization works to protect the environment and animalsliving areas around the world. it can protect the wildlife, nature and environment. 【百度搜索】/view/293187.html?tp=0_012.practice reading them again and again. 3.finish the exercise in p 77 (part a) and check the answers.设计说明通过多媒体来展示图片,使学生能直观、清楚的了解国际各个慈善组织的内涵和作用,从而培养学生总结信息和自主学习的能力。3 . discussion 1. t: as we know, people in poor areas need a lot of things. what do they need?(get the students to discuss) then divide students into group of four . set an example : people in indonesia after tsunami. discuss what is the most / least important and why ? let them make a conclusion like this : i think.is the most / least important for people in poor countries. 2. finish the exercise in p 77 (part b) and let students say the reasons.设计说明培养学生在实际生活中运用语言进行会话的能力,锻炼他们口语表达。并对所学知识进行拓展与延伸,从而培养学生自己解决问题的能力。step two. communication1.what do you think people in poor countries need most? do they get help from international charities? what can you do for charities? we can donate our pocket money to them.2.show the international charities logos in part a to students again. get students to group themselves into a team of four . one student shows a logo and asks questions, such as : what is it ? what does it work for ? which charity do you think the most important ? why ?设计说明通过组内的交流,让学生更深入的了解所学的国际慈善组织图标及其重要的社会作用,并巩固新学的词组和句型。step three . presentation1.tell students that eddie and hobo are going to help the poor people.play the tape recording for the first time.listen to the conversation between eddie and hobo.ask students to find out the following questions after listening:oxfam needs money to carry on with their work. 1 who calls for donating pocket money to oxfam? (hobo)2 whose pocket money does he want to donate? (eddies)3 why not? (he doesnt often go out before lunch. that is to say, he isnt used to going out before lunch.)4 what does eddie think of hobo? (hobo was kind to him before, but now he isnt. that is to say, hobo used to be kind to eddie.)2.language points . left t: what doe “left” mean here? e.g. there are only three be used to doing e.g.he is used to getting up before 6:30 every morning. tootoe.g. he is too weak to walk any further. breakfast, lunch, supper或dinner之前有形容词修饰时,常加a/an。 we had a wonderful dinner last night. 设计说明教师通过播放课本76页漫画部分的录音,意在锻炼学生的听力并通过语言点的讲解来提高学生对课文的理解能力。step four . reading and acting ask the students to read the comic strips after listening to the tape and try to perform hobo and eddie according to the comic strip. then ask three or four pairs to perform this conversation before the class. expressions from comic strips & welcome to the unitneed money, have some pocket money left, giveto, have lunch at twelve oclock, be not used to ing, before lunch, have a big lunch afterwards, used to do, be kind to, sothat, walk further, take to, next to, collect information about, matchwith, writein the blanks, needmost, writein the box 设计说明进行角色扮演的同时播放录音,和原音进行比较,培养同学的模仿能力和语感。此外用问题引入漫画部分的生词和重点的词组,加深学生的学习印象。step five . working out expressions and language points1.back to the textbook and go over page 76 and 77 again to underline all the useful expressions. 2.language pointsleft adj. 剩下的,留下的used adj. 二手的; 旧的; 用过的 used to 过去常常 (后接动词原形) be / get used to sth./doing sth. 对某事物/做某事已适应/习惯 “tooto”结构表示“太而不 能”,副词后接形容词或副词的原形,其后再接动词不定式。一日三餐之前一般不加冠词。但如果breakfast, lunch, supper或dinner之前有形容词修饰时,常加a/an。设计说明让学生自己查找知识点,培养他们的自学能力和对本堂课所学知识的深入理解和记忆。step six . retell the story play the tape recording again,and make sure every student has understood the conversation,then retell today hobo tells eddie that oxfam needs money. he remembers that eddie has some p_ money l_ , so he asks eddie to go and donate some of it. but eddie says that he always has l_ at twelve oclock. he isnt u_to g_out before lunch. “dont w_ .” hobo says, “we can have a big lunch a_ .” at last, eddie has to go with hobo and he says sadly, “you u_ to be very k_ to me, but now im so w_ that i cant walk any f_ . ” “ok, ill t _ you to a new r_ . its n_ to the oxfam shop.” hobo says happily. do you believe what he says? (2) summing up what the students have learnt in this unit. teacher can say “work with your partner. first write down what you have learned about the charities. then write down the verbs, nouns, expressions and new grammar items that you have learned from this lesson.”2.pondering: the main task of this period is to arouse students interest to learn this unit. part a involves five international charities around the world . teachers can provide more information about them for students and ask students to search the internet for some other international charities.设计说明通过总结和拓展,加深学生对知识点的熟悉程度。使学生对整节课有一个明确的认识并培养学生如何利用互联网获取信息,整合信息的能力.step ten .homework1. revise the useful expressions and have a dictation.2. listen, repeat and read the comic strips and try to remember it. act it out.easily. 3. finish off the teaching plans exercises and evaluation handbook exercises.4. surf the internet for more international charities. revise the content of the lesson and preparation for the next part - reading. 设计说明培养学生听、说、读、写的能力,并进一步巩固重点词汇和句型。为了更好地让学生理解所学,扩展视野,引导他们利用网络等资源开拓学
