英语写作范文2011英语写作授课教师NarrationIAn Eye-Witness Account of a Traffic Accident CET-4 (Jun. 03) Directions: 假设你在某日某时某地目击一起车祸,就此写一份见证书。 见证书须包括以下几点: 1、车祸发生的时间及地点 2、你所见到的车祸情况 3、你对车祸原因的分析 An Eye-Witness Account of a Traffic AccidentHalf past six yesterday (March, 19th, 2003) afternoon when I was on my way home from the school, an astonishing scene caught my eyes at the exit of the high way. A heavy truck with a trunk of sands turned over and crushed on a black car!I was riding my bicycle along the road when I heard a harsh noise of brakes. To my amazement, the truck which was turning a corner turned over suddenly. A black car happened to pass by it and was squeezed under the huge monster. Unfortunately, the driver of the car died on the spot, while the trucks driver was also hurt slightly. Why could this happen? It was raining yesterday and the road was slippery. The truck was running at a fairly high speed while it was turning over. Then it came what I saw yesterday. An Eye-Witness Account of a Traffic AccidentMy name is Liming. I am studying at college. A week ago I saw a traffic accident , which is still vivid in my mind.It was at about 9:00 on Saturday morning, June 15th, when I went out of the university to visit a friend of mine at another university. I was walking leisurely on the sidewalk when I heard a loud crash of two vehicles just at the T-junction about 10 meters away. Two taxis crashed together. It was a traffic accident. I went up and found that the two taxis were badly damaged. Both hoofs were out of shape. One door of a car was knocked off and lying on the road. One driver was bleeding and another was shut in the taxi. Some people were trying to help the driver get out of the damaged car. One man was calling to the traffic policeman station. A lot of cars were jammed on the road. From the stopping track on the road, it is clear that the two taxis were driving too fast. But it is just one of the reasons. In my opinion, the taxi drivers are eager to take more passengers and make a little more money. On the other hand, both drivers dont show concern for one another. Both of them wanted to run in front of another. Therefore, the accident is inevitable. So far, we should let the drivers keep it in their mind that a little slower, a little safer. Taking care of others lives means taking care of your own life.II. The news spread quickly on campus. At first, we were terrified and wondered if we were infected too. However, through our governments publicity on mass media, we gradually conquered the fear and set out to try our best to help her. Some teachers provided necessities while some students recorded the English class contents for him so that Li Ming could not be left behind. With our care and concern, Li Ming recovered quickly.Such an incident let us know what a good moral is. Our society is full of love, warmth and peace, in which people from man to woman; from individual to individual lend others a hand. Description A Friendly ClownOn one corner of my dresser sits a smiling toy clown on a tiny unicycle-a gift I received last Christmas from a close friend. The clowns short yellow hair, made of yarn, covers its ears but is parted above the eyes. The blue eyes are outlined in black with thin, dark lashes flowing from the brows. It has cherry-red cheeks, nose, and lips, and its broad grin disappears into the wide, white ruffle around its neck. The clown wears a fluffy, two-tone nylon costume. The left side of the outfit is light blue, and the right side is red. The two colors merge in a dark line that runs down the center of the small outfit. Surrounding its ankles and disguising its long black shoes are big pink bows. The white spokes on the wheels of the unicycle gather in the center and expand to the black tire so that the wheel somewhat resembles the inner half of a grapefruit. The clown and unicycle together stand about a foot high. As a cherished gift from my good friend Tran, this colorful figure greets me with a smile every time I enter my room. The Blond Guitar by Jeremy BurdenMy most valuable possession is an old, slightly warped blond guitar-the first instrument I taught myself how to play. Its nothing fancy, just a Madeira folk guitar, all scuffed and scratched and finger-printed. At the top is a bramble of copper-wound strings, each one hooked through the eye of a silver tuning key. The strings are stretched down a long, slim neck, its frets tarnished, and the wood worn by years of fingers pressing chords and picking notes. The body of the Madeira is shaped like an enormous yellow pear, one that was slightly damaged in shipping. The blond wood has been chipped and gouged to gray, particularly where the pick guard fell off years ago. No, its not a beautiful instrument, but it still lets me make music, and for that I will always treasure it.Gregory by Barbara CarterGregory is my beautiful gray Persian cat. He walks with pride and grace, performing a dance of disdain as he slowly lifts and lowers each paw with the delicacy of a ballet dancer. His pride, however, does not extend to his appearance, for he spends most of his time indoors watching television and growing fat. He enjoys TV commercials, especially those for Meow Mix and 9 Lives. His familiarity with cat food commercials has led him to reject generic brands of cat food in favor of only the most expensive brands. Gregory is as finicky about visitors as he is about what he eats, befriending some and repelling others. He may snuggle up against your ankle, begging to be petted, or he may imitate a skunk and stain your favorite trousers. Gregory does not do this to establish his territory, as many cat experts think, but to humiliate me because he is jealous of my friends. After my guests have fled, I look at the old fleabag snoozing and smiling to him in front of the television set, and I have to forgive him for his obnoxious, but endearing, habits. The Magic Metal Tube by Maxine Hong KingstonOnce in a long while, four times so far for me, my mother brings out the metal tube that holds her medical diploma. On the tube are gold circles crossed with seven red lines each-joy ideographs in abstract. There are also little flowers that look like gears for a gold machine. According to the scraps of labels with Chinese and American addresses, stamps, and postmarks, the family airmailed the can from Hong Kong in 1950. It got crushed in the middle, and whoever tried to peel the labels off stopped because the red and gold paint come off too, leaving silver scratches that rust. Somebody tried to pry the end off before discovering that the tube falls apart. When I open it, the smell of China flies out, a thousand-year-old bat flying heavy-headed out of the Chinese caverns where bats are as white as dust, a smell that comes from long ago, far back in the brain.ExpositionA Brief Introduction to a Tourist Attraction Good morning, ladies and gentleman, welcome to Beijing! The Great Wall runs across North China like a huge dragon, It winds its way from west to east, across deserts, over mountains, and through valleys till at last it reaches the sea. Its the longest wall on the earth, also one of the wonders in the world. The Great Wall has a history of more than 2000 years. The first part was built during the Spring and Autumn Period. All the walls were joined up in Qin Dynasty. All tile work was done by hand. Thousands of people died while building the wall. Thus the Great Wall came into existence. Since then, it has been rebuilt and repaired many times. Now the Great Wall, the admiration of the world, has taken on a new look. Its visited by large numbers of people from all partsof thecountry and the world. It is no doubt that one says, He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man.Slightly Fried Dumpling with PorkFirst, Mix the minced pork well with the salt, sugar, MSG, soy sauce, cooking wine, scallions and ginger. Add 50 g (3 tbsp) of water and stir in one direction till you feel the sense of elasticity.Second, Mix the flour with 200 g (2/5 cup) of boiling water, make the dough into long and round shape and reduce to 40 pieces. Press and roll into wrappings each about 6 centimeters (2.4 inches) in diameter. Put in the filling, fold and wrap into crescent shapes.Third, Put the cooking oil into the frying pan, heat and when the oil is about 135-200C (275-390F), place the raw dumplings in. Heat for one minute, sprinkle 100 g (6 tbsp) of water and put on the pan cover. Use strong fire to heat five minutes. When the water disappears, the dumplings are ready. (It may take several repetitions to cook all the 40 dumplings because of the size of the pan.)How to Have a Successful Interview To be successful in a job interview, the applicant should demonstrate certain personal and professional qualities that will leave a good and deep impression on the interviewer in a short time. To achieve this purpose, the applicant must first dress himself properly so as to appear modest and capable. A proper appearance will give the interviewer a good impression at the first sight of the applicant. Secondly, an applicant should remember that his manners of speaking convey information about his personality. He should neither speak too aggressively nor too humbly. Thirdly, the applicant should also make use of this chance to demonstrate his knowledge of the profession. He should be prepared to talk knowledgeably and confidently, but avoid making obvious exaggeration during the conversation, because to a manager, it is important that his employee has a sense of confidence, but over-confidence suggests arrogance, treachery, and may endanger his relationship with his colleagues. In fact, there are many techniques for job interviews, but there is only one successful candidate for a job opportunity, and he is the one who shows the best of his personal and professional qualities.ArgumentationComparative-Argument EssayPro-and-Con EssayI. Private Car1. 越来越多的人拥有私家车,它所带来的好处是2. 私家车的日益增多所带来的问题是3. 我的观点Private CarNowadays, any Chinese can enjoy the luxury of owning a private car - if he or she can afford it. Having a car of your own means no more traveling to work on crowded buses or subway trains, and you can drop off the children at school on the way. Moreover, it also means that you can enjoy the weekends and holidays better, because with a car you can go to quiet places where the regular buses and trains do not go.However, there are drawbacks to owning a car. For one thing, with the increase in car ownership in recent years, the roads are becoming more and more crowded, often making the journey to work more of a nightmare than a dream. For another, it is not cheap to run a car, as the prices of gasoline and repairs are constantly rising, not to mention the prices you have to pay for a license and insurance coverage.Having considered both sides of the argument, I have come to the conclusion that the advantages of owning a car outweigh the disadvantages. Therefore, it seems to me that China should increase its output of automobiles and enlarge the private car market. The result would be that cars would become cheaper, while at the same time the extra demand would encourage the auto industry to produce more efficient and family-oriented vehicles.II. Should the University Campus Be Open to Tourists?1.名校校园正成为旅游新热点 2.校园是否应对游客开放,人们看法不同 3.我认为Should the University Campus Be Open to Tourists? Nowadays, many famous university campuses have become one of the popular tourist attractions. It has been shown on TV that every year thousands upon thousands of middle school students visit Tsinghua University and Peking University and other famous universities in China. In the place far away from the capital city, the local students also visit the famous universities in their own provinces. So far as the present situation is concerned, is it a good or bad thing to open the university campus for tourists? Different people have their own opinions. On the one hand, some people argued that it is a good thing in that it can enable the middle school students to get more information about the university and they can have enough time and opportunity to prepare themselves with the chance to enter the university. On the other hand, some people hold a negative view about it. In their opinion, the public tourism will have negative effect on the universities because it will disturb the intellectual atmosphere. In my opinion, the tourism to the universities is not a good thing since the campus is mainly a place for study. With the increasing tourism on the campus, it will ruin the spiritual atmosphere in this learning field.III. 2007年6月六级作文Direction: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay entitled Should One Expect a Reward When Doing a Good Deed?
