model 9 unit 4: behind beliefs ord power task【teaching aims】 after learning this section, the students will be presented different expressions related to religious and some religious words. they will read a passage about religions around the world and then learn some religious expressions that are used in everyday english without religious meaning. exercises are designed for students to practice and reinforce the new vocabulary they have just learnt. students are expected to make themselves familiar with the expressions related to religion.【teaching important points】 help the students to gain some knowledge of religious around the world 【teaching difficult points】 use the words learnt in class to complete the relevant exercises. 【teaching aids】 the blackboard【teaching procedures】step1: brainstorming1. surf the internet or refer to some relevant resources about different religions. in this section, we will learn some expressions related to religions. maybe you would like to know the following information.what are the most popular religions in the world?what do we call the people who believe in a religion?who do people believe in each religion?what religious books do people use?what place do people worship in?do you know any important religious figures or famous religious architecture?do you know any religious words that are used in our daily life now? have the meanings of these words changed?2. present the information you collected about different religions to the class.step 2: vocabulary learning1. read the article in part a on page 54. explain the following words with your own words.what religions are mentioned in this article? (legend refers to the traditional story of a famous person or an event. some of the stories can be true. however, most of the stories are unreal, mythical or even supernatural.)can you give an example of a legend?
