He does look like Mr. Wu.时间分配:Step Revision: 13 minutes; Step Lead-in & Step Presentation: 9 minutes;Step Practice: 5 minutes; Step Presentation: 8 minutes; Step Extension activity: 8 minutes; Step Conclusion & Step Homework: 2 minutes.教学过程:Step Revision1. The revision of some important words. Ask the students to fill in the blanks. (1) The sun is shining through the rain and Millie sees a _(彩虹).(rainbow)(2) Some colours can give you a happy and _ (满足的) feelings.(satisfied)(3) People who live in cold _ (气候) prefer to use warm colours.(climates)(4) Green, the colour of nature, represents new life and _ (生长).(growth)(5) On August 8th,2008, he will make a big _ (决心).(decision)(6) Do you know that colours can affect our m_?(moods)(7) Early to bed, early to rise. (balances)2. The revision of Grammar. Ask the students to translate some sentences into English. (1) To use would rather than to express preferences.Sb would rather do A than (do) B.e.g. 我周末宁愿呆在家里也不外出。 (I would rather stay at home than go out at weekends.) 他们宁愿吃中餐也不吃西餐。 (They would rather eat Chinese food than Western food.)(2) To use prefer to to express preferences.Sb prefer(s) (doing) A to (doing) B. to, is a preposition here. prefer, preferred, preferred.e.g. 与黄色相比,我更喜欢绿色。 (I prefer green to yellow.) 与打牌相比,她更喜欢看电视。 (She prefers watching TV to playing cards.)(3) To use the indefinite pronouns someone/somebody, anyone/anybody and no one/nobody to talk about people.e.g. 教室里有人。 (There is someone/somebody in the classroom.) -操场上有人吗?-不,操场上没有人。 (-Is there anyone/anybody in the playground? -No, there isnt anyone/anybody in the playground.) 礼堂里空的,一个人都没来。 (The hall is empty. No one/Nobody has come.)(4) To use the indefinite pronouns something, anything, nothing and none to talk about things. e.g. 我将告诉你某个奇怪的事。 (I will tell you something strange.) 今天的报纸上有有趣的事吗? (Is there anything interesting in todays newspaper?) 你的收音机没有坏。 (Nothing is wrong with your radio.) -你有多少钱?-没钱。 (-How much money do you have? -None.) 比较:-Whats in your bag? -Nothing.Step Lead-inSo much for our revision. Now I want you to check for yourselves how well you have learnt the language items taught in the unit. Open your books at Page 41. Step Presentation1. Ask the students to work on their own to complete Part A. All the vocabulary they need is provided in the box.2. When students have finished completing the sentences, choose two students to play the characters of Millie and Daniel and read the conversation. Correct their answers when necessary. Review any item that caused difficulties for students.3. Some important or difficult language points:(1) some colour paper 用名词原形做定语来修饰另一个名词。e.g. 彩电 colour TVs ; 男生 boy students(2) I find it a bit strange.it为find的宾语,a bit strange为宾语补足语,a bit意为“一点点”,可修饰形容词。e.g. They have failed in the English exam. I find them a bit sad.(3) Let me have a look.Let 为使役动词,让某人做某事用let sb. do sth.;look为名词,have a look意为“看一看”。e.g.让我回家好吗?Let me go home, will you?(4) He does look like Mr. Wu.在肯定陈述句的行为动词前加上助动词可以表示强调作用,可解释为“确实”。e.g. 我确实需要你的帮助!I do need your help!Step Practice1. There is not anything wrong with the colour black. (改为同义句) (There is nothing wrong with the colour black.)2. We often paint the walls of our house white. (改为被动语态) (The walls of our house are often painted white.)3. I prefer blue coats. I dont like grey coats. (用would rather than 合并句子)(I would rather have blue coats than grey coats.)4. She likes red shoes. She likes pink shoes better. (用prefer to 合并句子) (She prefers pink shoes to red shoes.)5. Theres someone in the reading room. (改为一般疑问句并作否定回答) (Is there anyone in the reading room? No, there isnt.)Step Presentation1. Explain the context and instructions for Part B. Go through some of the more difficult words. Ask the students to find the word that does not belong in each of Daniels lists alone.2. Divide the students into ten groups. About five students a group. Discuss their answers and try to find out the reasons.3. Ask one student of each group to write the answers on the blackboard. Help them check for mistakes. Ask more able students to give reasons for their answers.Tell the students the reasons.(1) calm comfortable joy peacefulJoy suggests happy feelings. The others suggests a state of calm.(2) energy growth relaxed strength Relaxed is a clam, inactive state. The others are active, energetic words.(3) envy harmony peaceful satisfied Envy has a negative meaning and denotes a kind of anger. The others suggests a state of calm.(4) patient power strength success Patient means being able to wait or accept annoying behaviour. The others are strong, powerful words.(5) calm harmony relaxed stressed Stressed suggests tension and anxiety. The others suggest a lack of tension.4. Choose the best group and applaud them.Step Extension activity1. Create some posters with students as a summary of this unit. Cut out pictures of two famous and popular persons from a magazine. Stick the pictures on two large pieces of card, with plenty of room to write on them.2. Tell the students that they must tell me what to write on the posters. For each poster, ask these questions:(1) What is the persons name?(2) What does he/she do?(3) What is he/she wearing? (for each item of clothing)(4) What colour is his/her ? (for each item of clothing)(5) What does that colour represent? (for each colour)3. Wr
