Lead them to have an overall understanding of the usage of determiners教学难点To practise colloquial expressions教学准备1.Multimedia teaching desk2.Blackboard课时安排11课时第九课时课时目标1.To practise strategies to prepare for speaking2.To practise colloquial expressions3.Guide students to know how to interrupt others or a conversation politely4.Lead them to have an overall understanding of the usage of determiners教学过程Step 1 GreetingsGreet all the students.Purpose: Lead students to be more polite to others.Step 2 lead-inDivide students into four groups;Each group will send one representative to read their compositions loudly in front of the whole class;After careful listening, some students will be invited to tell whether there are still mistakes. If so, please point them out and the teacher will make supplements, show them proper evaluation and encourage them to be willing to participate in such activities in class.Purpose: Guide students to review and encourage them to express themselves, which can raise their interests in English learning.Step 3 ListeningPre-listening:Ask them to go through the requirements and contents in exercise 1 as soon as possible, and then discuss, try to guess the possible situations of different kinds of interruption.While-listening:Ask them to listen and then take notes;After that, ask them to listen again, make supplements and check whether they have got the right answers;Then invite some of them to repeat and check the answers.Post-listening:First, explain the language points in the listening material;Then guide them to make a summary about how to make the most of intonation and tongues to guess the possible emotions.Step 4 SpeakingFirst, ask students to go through the stages as soon as possible, think about the topics;Then ask them to take some notes simply, or they can just draw a mind map;Next, guide them to make preparations in pairs(look at the function file and chat room sections from the unit)and then encourage them to make their own plans about an “Arts Week”;After about 10 minutes, some of them will be invited to share, clear drawing about the mind map of the plan will be especially appreciated;Next, give them proper evaluation and encouragement.Purpose: Improve language skills, and guide them to put knowledge into practice.Step 5 Language awareness 2First of all, ask them to read the story quickly and get the general idea;Next, ask them to read again and answer the questions in exercise 1;Then use the sentences with determiners to help them understand the grammar better;After that, guide them to finish exercise 2 to 5 to help them consolidate what they have already acquired before;Finally, make supplements and summarize the different functions of determiners.Purpose: Guide students to have an overall understanding of the two kinds of tenses.Step 6 Summary and HomeworkSummaryUse the blackboard design to help students recall what they have learned in this class.
