Unit 2 My favorite season(Grade five)Good morning, everyone! What I am going to talk about is Unit Two: My Favorite Season (展示PPT)from PEP Primary English Students Book-Book 2 in Grade Five. I divide this unit into six lessons hours and I am going to say the first lesson. My presentation consists of six parts: Analysis of students, analysis of textbook, teaching methods, studying methods, teaching procedures and blackboard design.一、Analysis of studentsStudents have been learning English for two years. They have their own thinking pattern, so we should pay more attention to group study.二、Now let me analyze the textbook、The main topic in this unit is season, which is closely related to students life and can easily cause them to use simple English to communicate and arouse their interest. Thats the function of teaching materials.、Teaching objectives state as follows:First, knowledge objectives: Students can listen, speak, read, and write new words, including “season, spring, summer, fall, winter”, and can recognize the key sentence “whats your favorite season?”.Second, ability objectives: Students can use new words and the new sentence in daily life and describe different seasons.Third, affective Objectives: Help student to build their love for the nature and their interest in English.、Key teaching points includeTeaching students to listen, speak, read and write those new words and to use the key sentence. Teaching difficulties includeThe pronunciation of some words like spring, fall, favorite and the description of each season.三、As to teaching Methods TPR is the main one in my class. Situational Teaching Method: It can make students easier to join in the class.Interactive Teaching Method: Interaction can avoid just the teachers talking, also can activate the atmosphere of the class. I also use Task-based Teaching Method and Group Study Method For this lesson, Ive prepared some pictures, some word cards,some cartoons for students, and PPT. By using these, my class can be more vivid and concrete.四、Studying method mainly contain two aspects:First, group study: it can let them communicate and cooperate with each other, and build the team spirit.Then, setting up situation and meaningful task activities:This can turn passive study into active learning.五、 Now come to Teaching procedures (1)Warming up In this part, I play a chant and do some body gestures(PPT 展示). This can make preparation for the new lesson and review something.(2) Next, PresentationAfter that, I ask them to look outside to tell me what kind of color they can find and ask whether they know in which season the tree will turn to green. This can lead into my new lesson smoothly and create a relaxed atmosphere. I adopt different ways to introduce each new word. At first, I draw a green tree and some beautiful flowers on the blackboard to lead out the word “spring”. Then, I do the gesture to let students guess the season “summer”. Next, I change the stick drawings to show the season “fall” and “winter”. In this way, it can attract their attention and make the class more interesting. (呈现板书)During this part, I ask them the question like “Is it cold in summer?” to help them review it. Through the competitive way, students can involve themselves more in the class.3 Practice partIn this step, I mainly design three games(PPT展示). Playing games is students favorite and usually have a good teaching effect. I correct the pronunciation instantly for students and read it repeatedly since its the difficulties in the lesson.4 ConsolidationIt has three segments.First, group reading.Then, the role playing game: Create a situation and let them make their own conversation. Through this, the students can have chances to practice their English freely.The last part, Guessing game: ask some student do some actions and describe the season to let others have a guess. It can motive student to observe ,to think, to discuss.5 Extension and exercises:Give them a task to
