Unit 5 What does she do?Teaching design得力其尔小学张晓雪一.Teaching aims:1.Students can listen、speak、read and write new words: singer, writer, TV reporter, actor, actress, artist2. They can use the sentence “What does he/she do?” to ask sbs profession and make the answers.3. They can express own ideal in English.二.Teaching important points:1.To learn partlets learn new words: singer, writer, TV reporter, actor, actress, artist2. To use “What does he/she do?” to ask and answer.3. To use “I am going to be a/an” and “I want to be a/an” to express own ideal.三.Teaching difficulties:1. To distinguish the using of “a” and “an”2. To grasp the changing of words.四.Teaching aids: Pictures, word-cards, radio and tape, ppt五.Teaching procedure:1. Warm-up(2)(1)Listen to the tape and sing the song “My father is a doctor”(2)Listen and do. Listen and do the actions follow the tape.2. Review (2)Teacher asks some students “Whats your father like? Whats your mother like?” and review “What is your father? / What is your mother?”3. Presentation(1)Teacher says: Our parents work hard for us. We love them very much. Now open your book and turn to page56, listen to lets chant. I teach lessons. I am a teacher. You can ask me: What do you do? Then shows a picture to ask: What does he/she do? It leads to speak: He/she is a teacher. Teacher also can ask: What does he/she teach? To review words: English, art, math and so on. ( 2)(2)Teacher shows pictures and asks “Is he a teacher?” Students say “No”, and then ask “What does he do?” Leading to new words: writer and artist. Teacher should translate two words. (2)(3)Teacher shows a singer and let students answer: What does she/he do? Then leads to speak “She/He is a singer.” They can also take more examples on singers. Showing and lead to TV reporter. ( 2)(4)To see a film then teacher points to the person and says “He is an actor. She is an actress.” Teacher shows some pictures and asks “What does she/he do? Who is she/he?” Then leads to answer “He /she is” We should use “an” before “actor/actress and artist”. (3)(5)Teacher shows word-cards and teaches how to read. (3)(6)Listen to the tape and read after the tape. (2)(7)Lets start: Students should fill in the blank and teacher writes the words on the blackboard. Then tells “dancer, driver, writer” are different. (3)(8) Teacher describes and students guess, and then practice between students with “What does he/she do? He /she is a/an” (3)(9) Spelling the words together and have a match. (3)(10)Group work: Im a teacher, but youre students now. What are you going to be? Then leads to answer “I am going to be a/an” or “I want to be a/an.” We also practice “What is he/she going to be? He/She is going to be a/an” (5)(11).Consolidation and extension: Practice some questions(5)-What she do (do)? She is a (歌手)-What are you going to be? I am going to be (一位女演员)I can draw many beautiful pictures, I like art very much. I am an I often interview some people and report many things. I am a He is an .
