My idolGood morning to you all, everybody! My name is Abby, Im so glad to have the chance to share my idea about my idol here. There is an old saying: An idol is an example to advise you what should be done and what should not be done./Well, my idol is a famous person. He is not only a singer and actor, but also a professional racer and businessman. I guess you already have some ideas who I am talking about. /He is Jimmy Lin, who was born in Taipei, Taiwan, on October 15th, in 1974. He was the second child in a family of five children. His father is one of the richest men in Taiwan and he is also a sensible man who has helped Jimmy become famous. When Jimmy was at school, he was very popular among girls. At first, his father was worried about his sons studies. But later he changed his mind and began to think maybe Jimmy could be an actor with such a perfect appearance. So he decided to send his son to Hua Gang, a professional performing school./At the age of 16, he was discovered by UFO Records because of his great performance in a school drama. In 1992, when he was 17 years old, he became a superstar overnight at the release of his debut album, Not Every Love Song has Fond Love. /He was also known as one who can fight against the “Four Heavenly Kings” in Hong Kong. And Lin became the youngest singer ever to hold a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum(红勘) and held the record of being the World Tours youngest singer. /His fame swept across Asia and even Americans gave him a nickname “Little Whirlwind” because of his successful performance in the film of The Rolling Kid. /He enjoyed great popularity until 1994, when he had to serve compulsory military service. Despite knowing it would affect his career tremendously, he didnt seek special treatment from the government. He performed well as a soldier though he did not have an easy life in the military. After 2 years, he returned to his acting and singing career. He worked very hard and even set up his own company, Jimmy Creative, in order not to be overshadowed by the many newcomers. /People who know Lin all know he is crazy about cars, no matter two wheeled or four wheeled. When he was 15 years old, he bought himself a motorcycle by washing plates in a restaurant. And when he was 23, he bought a Ferrari which he had dreamed for a long time. What a lucky man! How many of us can buy such an expansive car at that age by ourselves? /He likes car racing and decided to be a professional racer to realize his dream. But not everything can go on as one wishes in ones life. In one of the races in 1997, he got into a crash which almost killed him. Despite the accident, he didnt give up on racing, he often says, “When I race, I am not racing against others, but against myself.” /Until today he has won 17 trophies and become the only professional racer with pay in the entertainment circle. In addition to his entertainment and racing career, Lin is also a very successful businessman. In 2000 he started an IT company with friends that specialize in writing software for surveillance and banking. His own house has the latest high tech surveillance equipment manufactured by his own company. He has also set up a business on the internet with his brother, and created his own merchandise brand “Jimmy Racing”.He is a marvelous person whose resume even surprised Obama. In 2003, he became the first one in China who won the International Youth Award in San Francisco, and the San Francisco government officially designated Oct 17th of the year as the day in his name.And now, he is 40 years old, but he still looks like a boy. You can see these pictures. He seems to have remained the same. And he has a very cute child called Kimi with Kelly, who used to be a model. She is really hot, right? /They got engaged in 2008, but their wedding was held on 30 July, 2013 in Phuket, Thailand in front of 50 guests. Oh, how jealous I am! /Oh, there are some interesting pictures about them. He wants to be a good father and he never misses to chance to capture the tender moments of Kimis growth.
