The Shaolin Temple The Shaolin Temple is located in the beautiful Songshan Mountainone of the Five Sacred Mountains in China. It was built in 495A.D. for an Indian monk, Bahdra, who transmitted his doctrines here. Later another Indian monk, Bodhi Dharma, drew a large number of followers, which was the beginning of Chinese Zen Buddhism.
