Did you have a good time during your summer holidays? What did you do during summer holidays? Did you go on vacation?Say : Most of you went on vacation, Now lets talk about your vacations.Ss say something about their activities during summer holidays.Step 2 Presentation(5 minutes)Ask four students the following questions:Did you go anywhere interesting?Where did you go on vacation?Did you go with anyone?Did you do anything interesting?What did you do on vacation?How was the vacation?Four students answer the questions. Other students listen carefully and learn the questions. Get the fifth student to ask another student the same questions instead of the teacher. Then they should pass on the questions, choose anyone they want to ask.Step 3A Guessing Game(5 minutes)I also went somewhere interesting. Can you guess? Show Ss some pictures of different places. Teach: New York City,Central Park.Step 4 An interview(5 minutes)Get Ss to make an interview about my vacation and answer students questions.Ask: How was your vacation? ( teach “wonderful”)Step 5 Pair work(5 minutes)Ask:Do you want to know more about your partners vacation?Now lets ask and answer questions in Pairs. Try to use the questions you have learned.Choose some of them to act out.Step 6 Work on 1a Look and match (10 minutes)1. The teacher reads the instructions to the students. 2. Students read the activities in the box first. Teacher can get one student to explain them in Chinese. Then get students to complete by themselves. 3. Check up the answers 1b Listening practice 1.The teacher reads the instructions to the students. 2. Get the students to read the names in the box after teacher. 3. Tell students to look at the pictures and say what the person did in each picture. For example: She went to the mountains. 4. Tell students they will hear three conversations. People talk about what they did on vacations. Then play the recording. Students listen the first time. Students only listen. 5. Play the recording again and try to fill in the blanks with the numbers. 6. Check up the answers.Say: We had vacations. So did the students in Section A 1a, Unit 1.Ask:Where did they go on vacation?.Who went to the mountains stayed at home?Step 7 Pair work1c(5 minutes)1. The teacher explains the instructions to the students. 2. The students practice reading the conversation below inactivity1c. 3. Make their own conversations with the activities in activity 1a. Ask “Where did Brad/Sally/Tom go on vacation? ”Then work it in class. Warm-up (5 minutes)1. Check up the homework. 2. Get some pairs to work their conversations about last vacation. Then talk about your last vacation. Step 2. Learn the new vocabulary words(10 minutes) 1. Teacher asks one student to read the new words. And see if he or she can read the new words correctly. 2. Practice reading the new words: repeat after the teacher; read together/in parts/one by one. Then read and remember the words.Step 3. 2a Listening practice (5 minutes)1. Get students to read the names and the activities in the box. Tell students: they will hear three conversations about three peoples vacations. Match the people with the activities. 2. Play the recording the first time, students only listen. 3. Replay the recording and try to match. 4. Check up the answers. Step 4. 2b Listening practice(10 minutes) 1. Students look at the chart and read the names and the activities. Say, listen to the conversations and check “Yes, I did.” Or “No, I didnt.” 2. Play the recording the first time. Students only listen. 3. Play the recording again. Students try to fill the blanks. 4. Check up the answers. 5. Get the students to repeat after the recording. Step 5. 2cGroup work (5 minutes)1.
