母语是英语的编辑的情况下 作者自己修改论文的指导 引言引言 大多数中国大学对自己的工科和理科毕业生要求在国际杂志上发表至少一篇论文 可 是 许多因素导致这个任务很难完成 首先 先前的英语教育没有太强调英语写作 更不用 说技术性文章了 而现在的研究工作可能不包含英语 于是 这就导致作者英语不能很流畅 其次 大多数作者从来没有在说英语的国家居住过 最后 由于技术性论文很特殊 即使英 语国家在工科学生研究过程中 也开设了技术性论文写作的课程 很多时候 学生的论文由于英语水平太差而被拒绝 如果有可能的话 学生应该让母语 是英语的编辑修改一下 但是 这对于有很多学生的一个小部门来说 将会花费很大 一般 来说 每篇论文要修改两次 雇佣一些编辑来修改论文难度很大 花费大 而且效果也不太 好 母语是英语的人可以把语法错误修改得很好 但是 如果这个人没有工程技术背景 尤 其是他所修改的这篇文章的研究背景 他并不能修改出所有的错误 而且也不能确定文章的 表达是否清晰 他不能识别出表达错误的专门术语 这些错误是不能被文字处理工具中的拼 写和语法检查所识别的 另外 如果他不熟悉论文的主题以及讨论的领域 那么它就不能整 体把握整个论文 所以也不能修改好这篇论文 雇佣一个与被修改文章有共同工程背景的编辑是一个较好的选择 然而 一个具有工程 技术背景的人可以把文章修改好 但是 往往他不能告诉作者如何在将来的论文中如何避免 此类错误 除此之外 对大多数中国的大学 雇佣这样的编辑是很困难的 中国的大学可以 考虑邀请访问学者来进行研究讲学来作为交换 尽管修改的办法是发表论文最快的方法 但是 这种方法对作者如何避免常识性错误以 及使人难以理解作者意思的口语错误几乎没有作用 如果作者真正意识到他们的常识性错误 以及口语化的习惯 并了解到怎么消除这些错误 已经对英语有深刻理解的作者才能真正受 益 目的 这篇文章的目的就是通过我所编辑的超过 200 篇中国学生的英语论文 来说明最常见的 中国式英语的习惯用法 这些习惯包括语法错误 口语化 格式问题 大多数情况下妨碍读 者理解作者的真正意思 有的习惯 比如特别长的句子 可以使用微软的 Word 语法和样式 检查器来修改 但是 大多数习惯 比如缺少冠词 是不能被语法检查发现的 当然 中国 式英语口语习惯也不能被这些软件识别出 结构 大部分习惯在两部分内写出 第一部分 列出我认为需要特别注意的问题 这些习惯可 以打乱论文的思路 使其难于理解 并且出现的频率最高 这一部分中 这些习惯被一一解 释 从原始论文中摘取的例句也列出 并且句子也被改正 对于丢失冠词的情况 为了帮助 学生选择正确的冠词 作者给出了一个流程图 第二部分 列出了另外一部分习惯 有的情况给出了一些例句 另外一些情况 给出了 建议 第二部分对熟悉语言的细微差异很有用 我并没有修改所有论文中的习惯 主要是因为有的是必须根据个人的理解来修改的 例 如 作者对其论文的命名 以及命名新的技术思路来简明地表达他们的内容和方法 这种问 题经常出现 但是它只能靠自己来解决 一旦作者意识到自己的习惯 他们就能写出更好的 技术性英语文章 第一部分 a an the 最常见的习惯是过度使用冠词 a an the
