The story is told by a soon-to-be-retired trumpet player named Max, who is the closest and only friend to a long-forgotten piano player named 1900.In 1990s, an abandoned baby which is adopted by an engine worker in the ship Virginra. The crew dies several years later, and at that time,1900 is entirely isolated. He is a genius and he can play wonderful works without being taught. Through the twenty years of 1900s life, he has become a permanent passenger in this ship, attracting audience with his own music thats never been heard before. His talent spreads among the audience and people outside the ship. He soon attracts the attentions of record producers, publicists and even a black man is called the father of jazz, who wants to challenge him in piano skills. Their competition is one of the most wonderful scenes in the whole film. Then a young, pure and beautiful girl walks into his eyes. He loves this girl and wants to send her a song written by himself as a gift. But his personality makes him miss a chance. He is so sad about himself that he breaks the record. For 27 years, he stays on board and never treads on land. Once he prepares to get off the ship, but when he is faced the skyscrapers in New York, he returns the board. Many years later, when Max finds him in the wreckage of the ship which is going to be exploded into pieces, he refuses to get off the ship again. In the end of the movie, 1900 kicks his fingers in the air which looks like he is playing his favourite piano and disappears in the bombing. This film is praised by many people for its music. When I watch this movie, I am shocked by its beauty. It is the perfect combination of music and pictures, as well as the excellent mixture with dialogue. 1900 is used to watching the world and communicating with it through his music. Whenever his piano sings, the whole world is in his heart and he is the king of his own space. His music comes from the sea, it will not exist if he leaves the ship. 1900 is like an angel falls from the heaven. He is purity and always understands everything in the simple way. He has the most detailed insight and the most exquisite emotion. He is wise enough to choose and persist with what he wants while others are struggling with the hard lives and puzzled. He is faithful to his own feelings, never disturbed by others attitudes. He stands out among the people flooding into America to risk their fortunes. He prefers psychic freedom to fame and money .This decides his lonely fate. His name is 1900, because he is found as an abandoned boy in the first month, of the first year of the new century. The fanny thing is he owns the most fantastic name, but he is just against the grain of the age. .This is a clean and romantic film. The film, itself, doesnt have too many characters or complex plots. It just shares the feelings like the “afternoon tea”, which can give you a while of peace in your heart.I dont know if 1900 is the true figure in the history. What I think is there is a 1900 living in everybodys hearts. They represent the most peaceful and easy way of life which shows in our dreams. They also remind us to keep our minds awake, keep our soul purity, and not to be lost in the noisy cities. Maybe we cant l
