How to express ones feelings? A comprehensive reviewPart one: Read and paraphrase Worried about the preparations for her feast, Lala quickly turned for home with her collection of nuts, melons and other fruit. It was the custom of family groups to separate and then gather again at different sites for reunions as they followed the animal herds across the grasslands. A wrinkle appeared on her forehead. If only it could be just like last year! At that time she had been so happy when Dahu chose her as the future mother of his children. He was the best toolmaker in the group and it was a great honour for her to be chosen. She remembered the blood pulsing through her veins. She had felt so proud as the group shouted loudly to applaud his choice.Task One: 1. A wrinkle appeared on her forehead. She felt _.2. She remembered the blood pulsing through her veins. She felt _. I remembered my blood pulsing through my veins when _.Part Two: Read and answer questionsThe students were interested in my remarks; even the naughty boy Denham was leaning forward watching me. At this moment the door was thrown open and Pamela Dare rushed in, somewhat breathless, to take her seat. She was very late. “For instance,” I continued, “there are really two ways in which a person may enter a room; one is in a controlled manner, the other is as if someone had just planted a heavy foot in your backside. Miss Dare has just shown us the second way; Im quite sure she will now show us the first way.” To this day I do not know what made me say it, but there it was. I was annoyed with the way in which she had just rushed her way in, carelessly late. All eyes were on her as she had probably planned, but instead of supporting her entrance they were watching her, waiting to see the result of my challenge. “Well, Miss Dare?” Her eyes were black with anger and shame, but she stood up and walked out, closing the door behind her; then to my surprise, she opened it as quietly as possible, and with elegance and honor that would have befitted (与相符) a queen, she walked to her seat.Task One:1. My friends eyes were burning/black with anger when _.Part Three: Read and complete the tableIt was a cool October evening. Excitement and family members filled the hall. I was only a 7-year-old girl, but I was the center of attention. Finally, after weeks of preparation, I would show off all my hard work in a dance performance. Everything would be perfect so I thought. I waited backstage and then dressed up in my black tights with a golden belt. In a loud and clear voice, the master of ceremonies announced that my class was next. My dance class was doing a routine (固定节目) on wooden boxes two feet by two feet, facing the audience. All I had to do in the next move was just to put one foot on the box next to mine and keep my other foot on my box. It really was an easy move. I was paying so much attention on keeping the huge smile on my face and holding my head up that I did not look where I was going. I missed my partners box altogether and slipped. There I was standing on the stage floor when my classmates were on top of their boxes. I could hear laughter coming from the audience, and I felt the blood rush to my face. I remembered my dance teacher had told us “If you make a mistake, keep smiling so the audience will not notice.” I did my best to follow her advice as I continued with the routine. When the curtain (幕布) dropped, so did my hopes for the evening. After running backstage, I buried my head in my arms, tasting the salt from the tears that streamed down my face. No one could calm me down. Recently I realized I had been a star that night. True, I was failed in my dance performance, but I fought the urge (冲动) to run off the stage. Instead, I finished the routine with a smile on my face. Now when friends and family laugh about the time I slipped during a dance performance, I can laugh too. Alfreds face got _and felt blood _ his ears. After a little hesitation, he took out what he had stolen. But, to his _, she arrived wearing a smile. “Hello, Im Alfreds mother. Is he in trouble?” she said. Mr. Carr was surprised, too. He had expected Alfreds mother to come in nervously, shaking with _, asking with wet eyes for mercy for her son. But no, she was most _, quiet and pleasant and was making Mr. Carr feel guilty. Soon Mr. Carr was nodding his head in agreement with what she was saying. “Of course”, he said, “I dont want to be cruel. You are right. Sometimes, a little good advice is the best thing for a boy at certain times in his life and it often takes the youths long time to get sense into their heads.” And he warmly shook Mrs. Higginss hand. Back home, silence _ the room at first. Then without even looking at Alfred, she said, “You are a bad luck. It is one thing after another, always has been. Why do you stand there so stupidly? Go to bed.” In his bedroom, Alfred heard his mother in the kitchen. There was no _ in him, just pride in his mothers strength. He felt he must tell her how great
