Unit7 (1a-2c)Teaching PlanI. Analysis of the teaching material:1. Position and content: This class is the first period of Unit 7.2. What to teach: 1) Teach the reading rules of large numbers; 2) Introduce something about the nature, especially the geography information, teach the pronunciation of the names of places; 3) Review the formation of the comparative and superlative of the adj. and the adv.3. Teaching key point: Reading rules of large numbers; the formation of the comparative and superlative of adj. and adv.4. Teaching difficulties: Reading rules of large numbers;. Teaching Aims 1. Knowledge objects (知识目标)The students are requested to master the reading rules of large numbers; formation rules of the comparative and superlative of adj. and adv.2. Ability objects (能力目标)Make the students to learn some listening skills. Form the habit of predict the listening materials before listening.3. Moral objects (情感目标)Knowing the amazing and great of the nature and enable the students to love the nature.4. Study strategy objects (学习策略目标)Make the students try to grasp the chance of communication in English and learn to take an active part in the class activities. Analysis of Teaching and Learning 1. How to teach 1) Task-based Language Teaching ( 任务型教学)2) Situation Approach(情景教学法)3) Communicative Approach (交际教学法): 2. How to learn 1) Students should listen to the teacher carefully to notice the rules of pronouncing the geography places, and remember the rules of reading the large numbers.2) Students should do the listening exercises carefully.3) They should take an active part in the class activities and do well in the cooperation with their partners. The Analysis of Teaching ProcessStep 1 - - -Organization 1. Exchange greetings with the Ss.2. Introduce the title. Unit 7 Whats the highest mountain in the world?Step 2 - - - Revision 1. Ask and answer: How many students are there in our class. (Recall something about the numbers)2. Free talk: Who is the funniest, the heaviest, the thinnest, the friendliest, the smartest, the most popular, the tallest in our class? (Review something about adj. and the superlatives. And this step is useful to take the students interests.)Step 3 - - - Leading in1. Introduce how to express the height:- How tall is he? (Ask students about he height of the tallest student in our class.)- He is _ meters tall. 2. Drill the reading methods of 1.83 and other numbers of height.3. Show a number, let students read, and guess what the number means.1.57 meters tall.4. Practice: - How tall are you? - Im _.Step 4 - - Present 1. Show the large numbers of the books and ask them whether they can read them. Then review the rules of how to read the small numbers. 1) Read the numbers which contain the one-digit, 2-digit and 3-digit numbers.2) Play a game to check whether the students can read the words quickly.2. Teach the students to learn large numbers. Take 123,456,789 for example.Tell the students how to read it. And then play a game about it: find out the biggest and smallest number.3. Practice: try to read the large numbers that showed before. 4. Teach how to read the new words.5. Ask what the numbers and phrases mean.8,848.43 meters high1,025 meters deep.6. Do the listening about 2a and 2b which contain the information about China.1) Practice to read the numbers in 2a.2) Listen and number the right order.3) Fill in the blanks with the right numbers.4) Read the listening materials.5) Do exercise to summarize the listening materials Step 6 - - Summary 1. Large Numbers: hundred, thousand, million2. Great places: Qomolangma, the Sahara, the Caspian Sea, the Nile3. Comparatives and superlatives:
