Warming up and lead-in.At the beginning of class ,we will listen to a song. Ask the students if they like it, and what festival we will sing it. Ask students a question and let them try to answer them: -Whens the Chirtmas Day?-Its December 25th.Show some dates on the screen and let students talk about the dates use the sentence patterns below.- When is .?- Its.Step 2. Presentation1.Show different kinds of pictures in 1a like birthday party, basketball game, school trip, etc. and try to match the pictures with the activities.2. Tell the students they are going to listen to a conversation about the pictures. Let them listen carefully and circle the events they hear.3. Play the tape for the first time, ask students to listen and circle what they hear.4. Point to the calendar showing the September and October dates in 1c. Let students listen carefully to the recording again and write the name of each event in the correct place on the calendar as the example showed in the calendar.5. Play the recording again. Students try to complete Johns calendar according to the recording they hear.6. Check the answers.Step 3.Pairwork. Practice the dialogue in the listening material. And finish 1d.Step 4. Groupwork1. Let students work in groups and choose three activities they like, and then try to make their own calendar.2. Let the students finish the short passage after the calendar.Step5.
