六模块二单元前两课时教学思路:Teaching aim: After learning “welcome to the unit”, students can review ing form, learn to find happiness in daily life and realize the importance of being happy even though we may come across something unfortunate.After learning “reading”, students can get the key skill in reading an interview and the structure of an interview. Meanwhile, they are provided more information about Sang Lan and learn about her bravery, the secret of happiness. Lead-in part :Begin with the question “What is happiness?”. Then, give students some examples including Sang Lans phone. After discussing whether she is a girl with happiness, encourage students to interview her to get more information.Teaching steps:According to students language ability in different schools, teachers can choose to go through the lesson at different paces, so 2 solutions are provided here. Pay attention to Step 6.Step1 Before class,click “link address” to a foreign childrens song called “if you are happy”Step2 From the song, we know that we can use many ways to express our happiness. However, what is happiness to you? Then, give students some hints in form of pictures.Step3 Students should make up complete sentences according to the pictures: “Happiness means_”Step4 Brain storm: “What is the happiness to you?” Give students 1-2 minutes and ask them for the opinions.Step5 Expand the thought with other pictures to show the meaning of happiness.Step6 Sang Lan s photos showed. “Do you know the girl in the wheelchair? Who is she?” “She is always smiling. Do you think she is enjoying happiness?” P.S. : Sentence “Who is she?”has been linked first-reading. If you want to quicken your lesson you can click it, while DO remember I made the LINK according to the place of the PPT in my computer, so you should change the LINK to your address. Step7 To slow down with more introduction, teachers just skip it and come to next page with more pictures of Sang Lan, from young age to now. “Whats the similarity among the pictures?” “She is always smiling.”Reading I:Step8 Review: Present Sang Lans photos, and ask students to describe her with adjectives.Step9 “Do you think she experienced a colorful life? Do you want to know more about her? Lets read the interview about her.”Step10 Reading strategy: How to read INTERVIEW.Step11 Skim: general idea.Step12 Scan : detailed information.p.s. : Extra information are provided in a profile as supplement of the information including background information and school life. Reading II: As teacher assigned the reviewing homework, go through the text paragraph by paragraph.
