Language knowledge and skillsAt the end of the class, Ss will be able to:1)listen, speak ,read and write the words: bedroom, study, living room, kitchen, bathroom. 2)ask and answer in real communication , like “Wheres ? Is she in the .” -”Yes, she is/ No, she isnt.” 3) understand the actions in Lets do and do the actions with the instructions. 2. Learning strategyThrough individual learning and cooperative working, the students are able to participate, experience and compete in the activities. They can also learn through pictures and actions to help memorize the language knowledge .3. Affect & Cultural awarenessAt the end of the class, Ss will be able to:1) find that English is in everyday life, because they can talk about the rooms in English, which will make them more interested in learning English.2) observe things around them more carefully. 3) know the habit of sticking notes on the fridge in western countries. 重难点1. Teaching main points 1) Help them to pronounce, understand and use the words such as study, bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. 2) Help them to ask and answer peoples position in real communication: Wheres ? Is she/he in the ? - Yes, she/he is./ No, she/he isnt. 2. Anticipated difficulties It may be difficult to pronounce and distinguish the words “bedroom” and “bathroom”, because ”dr” and “th” are difficult for Ss to pronounce. I will help them to pronounce by explaining the position of the tongue. I also create some gestures to help the Ss to master the pronunciation. 教 学 过 程 【Step 1: Warming-up & Revision 】1. Enjoy a song T will guide Ss to enjoy a song about the room: What do you see?【intention】As to the psychological characteristics of children,singing a song can make Ss feel pleased and satisfied. In this step , the song “what do you see?”deals with the bedroom which help Ss get familiar to the words: bed and bedroom. In addition, the song leads to the next step by providing the question: what do you see? 2. Sharp eyesAfter the song, T will show pictures which disappear quickly and ask Ss: what do you see? T will show the pictures of bed, desk, window, door and wall one by one. Finally, these pictures compose a house which leads to the topic of this unit: My home.【intention】This activity not only catches Ss attention but also leads to the topic of this unit : My home. 【Step 2:Presentation & Practice】1. Amy homeAfter showing the house, T will show the image of Amy and introduce this is Amys home. Amy: This is my home, welcome to my home. How many rooms do I have?Ss: Five.Amy: Yes, follow me, I will show you my rooms one by one. In this way, the new words will be introduced one by one.1) “study”T will show a desk, a computer, a chair and a shelf in the room.T: Whats in my room? Then introduce the sentence: This is my study. And guide Ss to read the word study. After that, T will point to the shelf and ask: what can we do in the study? Then lead to the sentence: Go to the study, read a book. At the meantime, guide Ss to do the action of reading a book. 2) “living room”T will show a TV, a sofa and a picture in the second room. “living room” and the sentence “Go to the living room, watch TV” will be taught the same way as “study”3) “kitchen”T will show the situation that Amy is hungry and lead to the sentence: Go to the kitchen. Then T will teach “kitchen”. After that, T will show many snacks on the PPT and guide Ss to read the sentence: Go to the kitchen, have a snack. 2. Find the cat1)”Is she in the?” In the kitchen, T will present a note for Amy sticking on the fridge which says: wheres the cat? Find her. -Mom. Then T will show pictures of the learned words which are covered and guide Ss to ask: Is she in the study/kitchen/living room? Then uncover the pictures one by one and guide Ss to answer: No, she isnt. 【Intention】T adds the cultural things in this situation. The notes on the fridge is a western habit, therefore, this note not only help Ss to know the western habit unconsciously, but also lead to the next activity. 2)”bedroom”Then, T will show that the cat is on the bed and guide Ss to say: its in the bedroom. T will emphasize the pronunciation of “dr”. Then T will do the action and guide Ss to say “Go to the bedroom, have a nap.”3) “bathroom”The cat disappears, and T will ask: Wheres the cat? Is she in the bedroom? And encourage Ss to answer: No, she isnt. Then the cat is in the bathroom. and T will ask: Is she in the bathroom? and guide Ss to answer: Yes, she is. After that, T will teach bathroom and emphasize the sound of “th” by showing the position of the tongue. “Go to the bathroom, take a shower” is taught the same way as “study”【Intention】This activity introduces the sentence pattern: Is she in the ? in a guessing game which encourage Ss to speak. First, Ss can use the three learned words to practice the sentence. Then the sentence also leads to the other new words: bedroom and bathroom. Ss can learn and practice in one situation. 3. Name the roomsT will show the main picture on P39, and ask: How many rooms do you see at Amys home and guide Ss to name the rooms. 4. Repetition drill After that, T will show the video of the book and guide Ss to read after it. 【Intention】Activity 3 and 4 come back to the text book and make a brief summary of the learned words and sentences. Besides, enough and right pronunciation, tone input are necessary for Ss to develop good spoken English.5. Lets chant T will guide Ss to sing the chant and do the actions accordingly. 【Step 3:Consolidation & Extension】1. Find out the thievesT will set a situation that four thieves go into four houses. Thieves are in the different rooms. Ss need to find them out by using the sentence pattern: Is he in the ? 【Intention】 In this activity, Ss can use the learned words and sentences in the a real situation. Besides, Ss are interested in looking for the thieves, therefore, they will be eager to ask and use the target language. 2. Find the cat 1) After catching the thieves, T will give a cat to the Ss as a prize. T will hide the cat behind the word cards on the blackboard. Ss try to find it out by using: Is she in the ? Then T will invite the S who gets the right answer to the front of the classroom and g
