(Ask Ss to recall family members in the video.) Read the title of the lesson.Step 3 Learn the new words of family members.1. Show the family photo of Amy and know about it. T: Now, I am Amy. Hi, friends. Im Amy. Meet my family. Teacher introduces the family photo. T: Hi, friends. Im Amy. Meet my family.There are nine people in my family. They are my grandparents. My grandfather has glasses. My grandmother is friendly. This is my father. He likes books. This is my mother. She is quiet. This is my uncle. He is tall and thin. This is my aunt. She is friendly. This is my baby brother. He is a cute, cute boy. This is my cousin. She is a good, good girl. We have a happy family. 2. Learn the new word: parents. (1) Who is Amys father? Is he Amys father? (T uses the pictures of father and uncle to ask and choose.) Which word is father? (Ask Ss to choose the word on the white board.) (2) Who is Amys mother? Is she Amys mother? (T uses the picture of mother and aunt to ask and choose.) Which word is mother? (Ask Ss to choose the word on the white board.) (3) Who are they?(They are Amys parents.) Learn the pronunciation of parents. Chant: father, mother, parents. (4) Is it an apple tree? (No, its a family tree.) Put the pictures of parents on the family tree. 3. Learn the new word: grandparents. Who is he? (He is Amys grandfather.) Who is she? (She is Amys grandmother.) Who are they? (They are Amys grandparents.) Learn the pronunciation of grandparents. Chant: grandfather, grandmother, grandparents. Put the picture of grandparents on the family tree. 4. Learn the new phrase: baby brother. He is a baby. Is it a girl or boy?(He is a boy.) He is Amys baby brother. Learn the pronunciation of baby brother. Put the picture of baby brother on the family tree. 5. Learn the new word: aunt. Who is she? (Hide the picture on the ppt.) (Shes Amys aunt.) Whats she like? Do you remember? (Students describe according to their memory.) Which word is aunt? (Ask Ss to choose the word on the white board.) Learn the pronunciation of aunt. Shes not my sister. Shes not my aunt. Shes my fathers sister. Ask Ss to put the picture of aunt on the family tree. 6. Recall the relationship of grandparents family. Show the pictures of grandparents, father and aunt. This is a small family. Grandparents are my fathers _. My aunt is my fathers _. 5. Learn the new word: uncle. Who is he?( He is Amys uncle.) Whats he like? (Students describe Amys uncle according to the picture.) Which word is uncle? (Ask Ss to choose the word on the white board.) Learn the pronunciation of uncle. Ask Ss to put the picture of uncle on the family tree. 6.Learn the new word: cousin. Is she Amys sister? (No, she isnt.) She is Amys cousin. Learn the pronunciation of cousin. Put the picture of cousin on the family tree. Peter is Amys cousin. Amy is Peters cousin. Say the chant of “cousin”. Chant: Cousin,cousin. Not my brother, not my sister. Aunt is her mother.
