They have taken great interests in competition and co-operation in learning English now.The Teaching Methods1. Communicative teaching method2. Audio-lingual approach3. Task-based language teaching.Studying methods1.Teach the Ss how to master the listening skills2.Let the Ss pass ListeningImitationPractice to study language.3.Teach the Ss how to communicate with others.Teaching procedure and purposes of my designing.Ill finish this lesson in 7 steps. First Ill divide the Ss into four groups,two in one pair and give 3 tasks to compete in class. At last lets see which group is the winner.Step1 Greeting and Leading-in(about one minute)T:Good afternoon,class.Sit down,please.Today,I bring a beautiful song for you,would you like to listen to it? Do you like reading?Yes,I like reading,too.Last week,I read an excellent English book about a brave boy who goes out to sea and finds an island full of treasure.Do you know treasure and island?S:T:I would like to show you two pictures.The first picture is a box of treasure,please read after me“treasure”,and repeat it three times!(Because important things need to be repeated three times) Do you love treasure? I love treasure,too.The second picture is a beautiful island,please read after me“island”,and repeat it three times! Hainan Island is a beautiful place. Please read the two words together,treasure ,island! ( Present the book Treasure Island)This is the book“Treasure Island”,I have read it, have you read Treasure Island yet?Purposes of my designing :Showing pictures can arouse students interest and smooth the way to present the new topic. Step 2 Presentation(about six minutes)1.Write down Unit 8 Have you read Treasure Island yet? Section A (1a-1c) on the blackboard.Help students answer:Yes,I have. /No,I havent.T: Have you read Treasure Island yet? S:T:Have you heard of these books?Show the pictures of books and teach students the names of these books:Robinson Crusoe,Oliver Twist,Tom Sawyer ,Alice in Wonderland,Little Women T:Pay attention to the writing of the books names. Ill call students one by one in lines or rows to read the books names and then all the students read together,make sure that students can read them fluently2 .T:Now ,please write your answers in 1a.Have you heard of these books names? Please check ()the English books youve heard of?Answers will vary. Alice in Wonderland Little Women Treasure Island Oliver Twist Robinson Crusoe Tom SawyerPurposes of my designing :Students will feel it is easier to do 1a after knowing these books namesStep 3 Listening. (about ten minutes)T: Three pairs of students are talking about three books they have read.Read the title and look through the chart to be familiar with the task. While students listen for the first time,they need to find out what books they are talking about.As for the second time,theyll listen to who have read these books and what they think of these books.Ill ask “What books are Nick and Judy talking about? Has Nick read the book yet? What does he think of the book?”According to my example,students will work in pairs to check their answers.Book titleNameHave they read it?What do they think of it?NickJudySandyAlanKateHarryWell do Task(1) :Ill choose one student from each group to write their answers on the blackboard.Lets check their answers together and give scores according to different levels of standard for evaluation(one score per blank)Praise some students if they do well and encourage others.Purpose of my designing : Task-based teaching methodis used here to develop Ss ability of co-operation.T: Listen again and imitate the text. Pay attention to your pronunciation and intonation. Purpose of my designing : Imitation is the best way to learn English.Step 4.Make the conversation(about ten minutes)T:In the last listening material,other three books dont be mentioned in 1a.What are they? Call one student to answer .Yes,they are Alice in Wonderland ,Oliver Twist and Tom Sawyer .Please read the conversation of 1c together and remember it.A:Have you read Little Women yet? B:No, I havent.Have you?A:Yes, Ive already read it. B:Whats it like?A:Its fantastic. Please think and tell the differences between yet and already.(Help students answer if necessary).Yet is used in negative sentences,however,already is used in positive senences.Purpose of my designing:Remembering the important sentences is benefit for students to make their own conversations.T: Do Task(2):Make your own conversations about Alice in Wonderland ,Oliver Twist and Tom Sawyer according to the example .For example:A:Have you read Alice in Wonderland yet? B:No, I havent.Have you?A:Yes, Ive already read it. B:Whats it like? A:Its wonderful. T:Ill call one pair from each group to present their conversations and give scores by other students according to different levels of standard for evaluation(from 1to 4 ,4 is the most score)Praise some students if they do well and encourage other students.Purpose of my designing:Task-based teaching methodis used here to develop students ability ofcommunication and their ability of co-operation will also be well trained.Step 5. Production (about ten minutes)T: Do Task(3).Ill show more pictures such as Dream of the Red Chamber , The Romance of the Three Kingdoms ,The Story by the Water Margin ,Journey to the West and teach the book names for you to make conversations,pay attention to the usage of yet and already. If you do a good job,Ill give scores according to different levels of standard for evaluation(from 1 to 4 ,4 is the most score)Purpose of my designing: To check the knowledge Ss have learned in this period.Step 6. Homework(about one minute)1.Remember the new words and important sentences2.Find story lines of the six books in 1a b
