Words and expression in this unit .2. 现在完成进行时的用法以及与现在进行时和过去进行时的区别。 Period 1Teaching procedures :Step 1 Leading in 1) Show the pictures and the new words. Read and learn the words and the expressions. Ask students to try reading and then follow the teacher to read. Read by themselves and try to memorize the pronunciation and the meanings first.2) Ask Ss : Do you love you hometown?Were you born in your hometown -the city of Rizhao? How long have you been living in Rizhao? Emphasize the meaning of how long andlive in ,then give them the teachers answer: I have been living in Rizhao for more than 30 years. Say, in this unit were going to talk about how long weve been doing things .Then help the Ss try answering the question according their reality: I have been living in Rizhao for 15 years. Ask several students to answer the same question. Then tell them another way of expressing the time:.since 15 years ago/since 1997/since I was born. Step 2 Pre-task1) Ask one of the students the question:LiXizohu, when did you study English ?Help the student answer: I studied English in 2006.Then ask : how long have you been studying English ?Help him to answer : I have been studying English since 2006./I have been studying English for six years .Repeat the activity with other students . Then summarize the differences between since and for. Let Ss get to know them.2) Then ask and answer the similar questions about the pianist Li Yundi and Wang Lihong. Then show them the rules of the present perfect progressive tense.3) Practice . Do the memory game. Ask and answer in pairs. Step 3 While-taskSB Page 44 , 1a .1) Ask students to look at the picture and answer the questions: what are they dong? What is the woman in the blue coat? And then show their names and ask: Who are still skating? Who stopped skating?.2) Ask the class each question and call on several different students to answer .SB Page 44 , 1b .1) Play the recording and get Ss to fill in the chart .2) Correct the answers. Emphasize the differences betweenhow long did .and how long have/has.been doing. SB Page 44 , 1c . Pairwork .Get the students to ask and answer. Then ask some pairs to say their conversations to the class.SB Page 45 , 2a & 2b .1) Read the instructions and have Ss know what to do .2) Play the recording .Ss write down their answers .3) Correct the answers .Step 4 Post-taskSB Page 45, 2c .1) Read the example in sample dialogue in activity 2c .2) In pairs, role play the interview between Alison and the reporter .3) Work in pairs. One student is a reporter, and the other is an interviewee. They are talking about their hobbies. For example, what do you like doing? When did you start doing.? How long have you been doing.? Let them make conversations. 3) Ask two pairs to say their conversations to the class .Step 5 GroupworkMake a survey. Find three or four students in a group, and there is a reporter in every group. Then the reporter interview other students and ask them what hobbies they have. Then make a report like this:eg. In our group , there are four students.
