Reading part of 1a Listening parts of 1b, 2a, 2bActivity parts of 1b, 2c II .Teaching aims: Knowledge aims- can name some stationery, identify ownership and master the sentence structureAbility aims- Read Ss can grasp the meaning of the textListen Ss can understand the listening materialSpeak Ss can express themselves by using the target languageEmotion aims-cultivate the sense of ownership and the merit of honesty III.Teaching focus: Vocabulary: pencil, pen, backpack, ruler Sentence structure: -Is this your backpack? -No, it isnt. Its his backpack. -Yes, it is. Its my backpack.IV.Teaching difficulties: The use & answer of the general questions, -Is this your pencil? Yes, it is. / -No, it isnt.The development of listening skillsV.Teaching methods: Audio-lingual teaching method, task-based teaching method, communicative approach, and situational teaching method.VI.Teaching aids: a tape, a recorder, and real objects of backpackVII.Teaching procedures人称第一人称第二人称第三人称 主格Iyouhesheit 所有格myyourhisherits Step Review (4mins) Review what have been learned in the last unit. a. Teacher: -Whats your name? -My name is Wang Ming.- Whats his name? -His name is Xiao Ming.b. Then ask some Ss to translate them into Chinese to see if they have mastered the contents in Unit1.c. After that let Ss talk by using those sentence structures when the teacher is drawing the chart. d. Ask one pair to act the conversation out, then invites one to complete the chart. e. Consolidate it and emphasize its importance.Step Presentation (5mins) Show the real objects or draw pictures to teach the new words,backpack, pencil, pen, ruler T: whats this in Chinese? S:书包 T: Do you know how to say it in English? S: No. T: Ill show you.Teacher writes backpack on the blackboard and leads Ss to read. Teacher draws the pictures of pencil, ruler and writes the words then lead them to read.Step Explanation (10mins) a. Explain the sentence structure of general questions. T: Look at the title, it is a general question. To have a good understanding of it, we should know the statements and how to change a statement into a general question.Teacher writes the statement and guides Ss to find the differences, and then summarizes a rule,“Is提前一变二,句号变成大问号”。Give another example and then ask Ss to practice.S1: That is my pen. S2; Is that your pen?b. Teach how to answer a general question. T:一般疑问句有个特点,可以用Yes /No回答,比如:-Is this your backpack? -No, it isnt. Its his backpack. -Yes, it is. Its my backpack. Ask Ss to practice answering the general questions.c. Then lead them to read and ask some Ss to work with the teacher to read aloud or translate the text before the class.-Is this your backpack? -Is this your pen? -Is this your ruler?-No, it isnt. Its his backpack. -Yes, it is my pen. -No, it isnt. Its her ruler.Step Pair work (5mins) Ask Ss to work in pairs and make conversations by using the words and sentences just learned. First one student makes a statement; the other transforms it into a general question. And then the prior gives an answer. For example: S1: This is my ruler. S2: Is this your ruler? S1: Yes, it is. Its my ruler.Step Listening practice of 1b, 2a, 2b (12mins) Listen to the tape and finish the exercises. a. Before listening, make Ss aware of the questions. b. Then play the recorder. c. After that, ask some to give their answers. d. Play again if necessary, and then check the answer.Step Sitcom playing (7mins) Invite groups of four to play a sitcom. One student picked up a thing in the classroom and he/she is looking for the owner. After asking some classmates, successfully he/she returns it to the owner. For example: S1: Is this your pencil? S2: No, it isnt. S1: Is this your pencil? S3: No, it isnt. S1: Is this your pencil? S4: Yes, it is. Its my pencil. Thank you very much!S1: Youre welcome. Step Summary (1min) Summarize the main contents and consolidate the grammar focus.Today we have first reviewed the grammar focus and sentence structures in the last unit, and then here are the newly learned words.
