S1:How are you feeling now? S2: Im nervous now, because there are many teachers in our classroom.S3:Dont be nervous.Well learn to tell the Chinese stories in English.Do you like listening to stories? Step 2 Presentation(6minutes)1.Show pictures,guess the stories.Learn new words :shoot stone.2 Learn to tell stories in English in an usual way. once upon a time,there lived an old man called . There were two big tall mountains in front of his house.It took him long time to go outside .So he decided to move the mountains with his family.( show four pictures ,choose one of them ,then tell the story as an example.)Step3Making up a story (10minutes)Work in groups of four ,make up a story together.Teacher gives help if necessary.Then ask some groups to tell their stories.Step4 Oral practice(3minutes)1.Look at the pictures in 1a,then read the names of the story in the box.2.Ss discuss with their partners and match the names of the stories with the pictures.Journey to the West Yu Gong Moves a MountaindHou Yi Shoots the Suns and Nu Wa Repairs the story.Step5 Listening practice(12minutes)1.Read the title to make sure students what to do.Ask students to read the sentences.2.Play the recording for the Ss to listen.3.Students discuss the answers.4.Play the recording again.Let Ss check the facts they hear.5.Check the answers._The twomountains were very high and big._A very old man tried to move the mountains._A man told YuGong that he could never do it.6. Play the recording again,ask students to complete the article.Then ask students to read out the article.Step5 Pairwork(3minutes)1.Read the questions in the box in 1c.2.Ss discuss the questions with their partners.3.Let some pairs ask and answer the questions.e.g.A:How does the story happen?B:There were two very tall mountains in front of their house.A:What happened next?B:A very old man tried to move the mountains.A:Where would they put all the earth and stone from the mountains?B:They would put them in to the sea.
