This is the first period of Unit6, 7B. It mainly talks about outdoor activities. Students are required to learn about the names of some outdoor activities and talk about the activities they would like to try.Analysis of the students: The junior students like to experience the sense of success. So they should be encouraged to be active in class to express their opinions freely. In this class, students can enlarge their knowledge. They are required to learn new words and talk about the activities they would like to tryTeaching aims:1. Language goals:Key vocabulary: outside outdoor swimming jogging skatingride riding cycling camping go camping /riding hurry up that Target language: What outdoor activity would you like to try ? What do you like about camping?I like being outside. 2. Ability goals: To help the students build the ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing.3. Moral goals: To help the students understand the safety of outdoor activities and enjoy the outdoor fun.Teaching important points:1. To help students grasp key vocabulary.2. To train students describe the activities they would like to try.3. To train cooperating study. Teaching difficult points:How to help remember key vocabulary and make a similar conversation, using Part B on Page69 as a model.Teaching methods: 1. Student-centered teaching method2. To design this lesson ,the main topic of this period is to talk about the activities they would like to try.Teaching procedures:Step1 Lead-in1. Watch the teacher dance. (To arouse Ss interest in class)2. Talk freely about outdoor activities. (To introduce “outside” and “outdoor and help Ss involved in the topic ,the aims , the ways of assessment and prizes on the Ss studying design in this period)Step2 Presentation1.Show some pictures to teach these new words: swimming jogging skating camping riding ride 2.Read the new words after the teacher and finish Part A on Page 69.(The competition starts and the teacher writes down the boys and girls points on Bb)3.Remember them with actions quickly.4.Check the result by playing this game:One student standing with her/his back towards the others choose one card, another student look at the card and act the word on the card to let the others guess the word and spell it. Meanwhile, the teacher writes down the points on BbStep3 Practice1.Let Ss listen to Part B on Page 69 to find the answers to the following questions: 1). What outdoor activity would Amy like to try?2) .What about Daniel? Why?2.Point out language points: outdoor activitieswould like to do sthgo ridingWhat do you like about camping?like being outside3. Read the language points after the teacher.4. Read out the conversation with the whole class and act it in pairs.5. Work in groups to make a survey about the outdoor activities to do this weekend, make a conversation and report it to the whole class. (Teacher encourages Ss to report actively and writes down the points on Bb.)Step4 The comic strip 1. Present the comic strip by listening to the record.2. Ask some questions about the comic strip: What are they doing? Does Eddie like hiking? What about Hobo?3. Explain the language points in the comic strip: hurry up be tired too much You complain too much.The bag isnt really that heavy.4. Read out the dialogue together.Step5 Emotional education (by watching the video)Hobo only takes necessary things to keep safe and enjoy hiking , so we should care for our safety and enjoy outdoor fun.Step6 Personal display Work in pairs and ask some pairs to act this dialogue with actions and their facial expression like the video. Step7 Sum up Summarize the difficult points and the boys and girls points to find out the result of the competition. The winners will decide on the teacherdancing or singing . (The teacher performs.)Step8Homework 1. Recite the new words and the dialogue in the comic strip.2. Read the conversation in Part B freely and write down a new conversation.3. Prepare the reading and finish the exercises on the Ss studying design.
