The Special Images of Qing Wen Qing Wen is one of the main characters of the classical Chinese novel “A Dream of Red Mansions”. She is one of the four big servant girls of Jia Baoyu, the hero of the story. She is located in the primacy of twelve Chai and vice albums. At the same time, she is the most rebellious girl in the story. The author, Cao Xueqin modeled a vivid and radiant image of Qing Wen. Of course, there are many other images the author modeled. I want to introduce some special images of Qing Wen. Firstly, Qing Wen is a born beauty. I think it is well-known. In “A Dream of Red Mansions”, Cao Xueqin did not depict meticulously that Qing Wen was beautiful. He just expressed this through other characters language and expression. The first to describe the appearance of Qing Wen in the book was out of the mouth of Wang Shanbaojia, who was the person hated her most. She spoke ill of Qing Wen to Mrs. Wang, “Qing Wen, who was in Baoyus room, depends on her better appearance and her smart mouth; she dresses up like Xi Shi every day! Her verbal skill in front of others is very well. Not only that, if there is a word she does not like, she will call names and scowl at others with her tempting eyes. In a word, she is not a decent person.” When Qing Wen was ten years old, her hair was not long. After seeing her, Jia Mu thought she was born bonny, and she was very fond of her. So Qing Wen was sent to Jia Mu as a present. And fortunately, Qing Wen was trusted by Jia Mu. Just due to this Jia Mu arranged Qing Wen to her treasure, Jia Baoyus side. After knowing that Qing Wen was evicted out of the Grand View Garden, Jia Mu said to Mrs. Wang: “I think the girl Qing Wen is very good, what I mean is that the other servant girls appearances are not better than her, so do the sewing and snappy speech, and I think she is the only one that can serve Baoyu well.” It is said that Qing Wens waist was very slender, and she had thin shoulder, these accorded with the standard of the ancient beauties. Some people said Qing Wens eye and brow were similar to Lin Daiyu in some extent, and she sometimes was comparable with Xi Shi. Of course, Mrs. Wang also thought so, so everyone can imagine that Mrs. Wang was very anxious about arranging such a beautiful person in the side of Jia Baoyu who had known the matter between men and women. In other words, everyone can imagine the extent that Mrs. Wang was worried about Jia Baoyu would go bad. After Qing Wen was evicted out of the Grand View Garden, in order to comfort Jia Baoyu, Xi Ren said to Jia Baoyu, “Mrs just does not like Qing Wen born so well, and she is unavoidably frivolous, Mrs just knows profoundly that such a beautiful person will not be quiet.” Without doubt, there were good words to describe Qing Wen. For example, Jia Baoyu praised Qing Wen was a basin tender and lovely orchid; Wang Xifeng evaluated “if compared with these servant girls, Qing Wen is born better”. From the above, we can realize: Qing Wen was beautiful, beautiful like Xi Shi. However, there is such a thing as a dangerous woman from the earliest times. Beauty is also a deadly sin. When Mrs. Wang called sick Qing Wen to her front, in the eyes of Mrs. Wang, we once again saw a “beauty”, or an “ill Xi Shi”. And in some extent, Qing Wen was the shadow of Lin Daiyu. We can see that the beauty of Qing Wen is self-evident, and it was agreed by all the people in Rong Fu. Although Qing Wen was like an orchid, which sent forth a faint fragrance, she also was not liked by many people and was envied by some people or even was calumniated. Her beauty on the one hand doomed her tragic destiny. Secondly, Qing Wen is an ingenious person. Her hands were so skillful that made everyone admire. On one occasion, Jia Mu gave Jia Baoyu a reward, which was from Russia. It was a fur coat made up of the feather of peacock and the thread. Unfortunately, the tails of the coat was burned by Jia Baoyu accidently. What made Jia Baoyu very worried was he would wear this coat on the birthday of Jia She the next day. The tailor, the craftsman of embroidery and the other women all dared not to accept this arduous task. Qing Wen, who was seriously sick, worried Jia Baoyu would have Jia Mus spirits dampened. So she decided to use the peacock gold thread to darn the hole just like a boundary. Qing Wen was the only one in the side of Jia Baoyu who could use this method. Qing Wen insisted to repair the coat well under the condition of being sick. To Jia Baoyu and the others delight, the coat was darned well. The trace was not easily seen. From this trivial thing, we can see Qing Wens excellent sewing skill. Thirdly, Qing Wen is a girl who is blunt and efficient. Qing Wens debut, in retrospect, this still gives us the eyes of surprise. Her ability and talent exposed completely. At that time, the drunk Jia Baoyu came back to the Yi Hong Courtyard and then came into his own bedroom, he saw the writing on the desk. Qing Wen first came out to meet him. She said with smile, “Good, god, let me grind the ink, you got up early and happily. You just wrote three words, and then you left the pen and went away. You coaxed us to wait for the whole day. Come to finish this writing with me.” By then, Jia Baoyu remembered this thing, which happened in the early morning and said, “Where is those three words?” Qing Wen said with smile, “You must be drunk. When you went to that mansion, you just told me to pose those three words on this door. Now you should ask so again. I personally climbed the ladder to post those on for fear that others would post that bad. My hands are still freezing and inflexible!” Qing Wens appearance at that moment immediately gave a kind of feeling of capable, experienced, frank and outspoken, and this also gave us a stream of fresh gas. Although in the master presence, Qing Wen was not hangdog but dared to complain, whine and speak out the discontent in her heart. She did not like do things deceptively. This made her set herself apart from all the maidservants and began to display her talent. Of course, this made Jia Baoyu liked her very much. Fourthly, Qing Wen is a cute, competitive and hard-edged person. These personalities, as a result, made Qing Wen be overbearing and led to his lack of tolerance. Especially to the old and the maidservant whose status was lower than her. There were many examples to prove this point of view in the book. In the twenty-seventh chapter, Qing Wen reprimanded Xiao Hong, “You must be mad. You have not watered the flowers in the yard and fed the sparrows, and have not heated the tea stoves. What you have done is just saunter outside.” In the seventy-third chapter, Jia Baoyu prepared his lessons at night to copy with the questions from his father, Jia Zheng. All the little girls little girl were so sleepy that they swayed from side to side. Qing Wen scolded, “You only know to pretend to be the dead from morning till night, occasionally let you sleep late and you should become so. If you go on like this, I will take out the needles to poke you!” To the old mothers, Qing Wen treated them with any mercy and she did not consider their feelings. The nurse of Jia Baoyu, Mother Li took the bun back to her grandson to eat, which was given to Qing Wen. After knowing that, Qing Wen expressed her dissatisfaction without thinking. At the same time, she was in a long-term opposite with Xi Ren. Because Xi Ren was the only person who could compare with her among the maidservant of Jia Baoyu, Qing Wen also hated Xi Ren most. So they were often against with each other. In the meantime, Xi Ren was not the light that saved the oil. As a consequence, the internal contradiction was more and more acute. In some extend, Qing Wen destroyed the unity among the people in the mansion. On the other hand, Qing Wen is particular about principle and she did things quite aboveboard. Qing Wen had a good opinion of Jia Baoyu, but she did not like furtive behavior like other little maidservant. What she most hated was the behavior of Xi Ren, who had physical intimacy with Jia Baoyu privately. Pitifully, Qing Wen was regarded as a fox by Mrs. Wang and some other people who did not like her. In order not to let Jia Baoyu be seduced by Qing Wen, Mrs. Wang found various ways to put obstacles in daily life of Qing Wen and even wanted to root her out. Obviously, Qing Wen, who was a people with inferior social status. It was difficult or to be more precise, it was impossible to confront Mrs. Wang or this kind of people. However, Qing Wen was not give in. When Jia Baoyu visited sick Qing Wen secretly, Qing Wen cut down her nails to Jia Baoyu as a souvenir and then she exchanged the close-fitting cotton-padded jacket. After doing this, Qing Wen said to Jia Baoyu, “Do not lie to others when you go back, just say these are mine. Since taking a hollow reputation, what these things really matter.” These words just like putting a knife into the heart of Mrs. Wang. This also put an end to the life and revolt of Qing Wen. From entering into Jia Fu to the death after suffering unfair treatment, she never yielded to persecution. Her indomitable spirit deserves our respect. Fifthly, Qing Wen is an upright person without fear. She always kept herself clean. She also was a person who was not succumbing to the reality and she had strong spirit of resistance. That is to say, she was a very principled person and she did not want to yield to the feudal forces. We can know this from the incident that Qing Wen bunted Jia Baoyu and then tore his fan. One day, Qing Wen broke the rib of Baoyus fan due to carelessness. Jia Baoyu scolded her with the word “stupid”, but Qing Wen not only was not afraid, but also bunted Baoyu directly, and then she even ignored Baoyu. Just because of Qing Wens bigotry, Jia Baoyu had to use many kinds of ways to coax her. At last, in order to make Qing Wen laugh, he let Qing Wen tear his fan. To Xu Baochai, she dared to complain her. Once, Qing Wen complained Xue Baochai, “Every now and then comes here, let us not sleep in the wee hours.” After complaining, whoever came to knock at the door, she did not want to know that and just not to open the door. This series of things reflected that Qing Wens character of Anti enslavement. Of course, these things also reflected that in the heart of Qing Wen, she never admitted that she was a flunkey who obeyed the master slavery. She hated a kind of people who always flattered to the masters. She hoped to be treated equally and her honest pride was very strong. In my opin
