06级教育硕士专业课作业成 绩:考试科目:英语测试任课教师:周榕学 号:2006434姓 名:宋伟专 业:教育硕士完成时间:2007年1月An Evaluation on a Test Paper-Based on Module 2 Unit4 .Introduction The report is based on an achievement test paper taken by Sanshui Middle School,Foshan City. The purpose of the test is to check whether the students have reached the teaching objectives in Module2 Unit4 on the new standard English for Chinas senior students which are edited by Beijing Normal University Press.Altogether nine hundred and twenty-eight students took the test and they must finish the test in two hours. All the papers are marked by teachers and the computer.Analysis of the Paper On the whole, the paper covers two types of tests-objective items and subjective items,of which objective items cover 80 marks and subjective items cover 70 marks.The full marks are 150.1. The Structure And Content of the PaperThe paper is designed according to the new standard NMET in Guangdong Province which will be put into practice in 2007. It seems that this set of paper follows the mode of the traditional NMET since it is made up of four parts:listening comprehension,language knowledge and its use,reading conprehension and writing. But in fact its very different from the old NMET. The differences lies in the following aspects:1)In the listening section,the last five items requires the testeees to fill the form according to the listening material ;2)the designer omitted the old multiple choice item which have been used for many years;3)the testees grammar knowledge is tested through filling the blanks in a passage;4)the new item information match is added to reading comprehension ;5)the traditional item errors correction in a passage is omitted;6)the writing section consists of two parts-basic writing, which asks the participants write a short passage in five sentences according to the information given,and writing after reading ,for which the testeee must write a passage of about 150 words related to the reading material.The detailed information about the paper can be seen in the following tables. This meets the requirements of the new curriculum .2. Evaluation on the paper Id like to make an evaluation on the paper according to its difficulty,discrimination ,validity and reliability.1)Facility value From the graph below ,we can find out that the facility value of most items is about 0.5 which shows that these items difficulty is moderate. About 17 items facility value is above 0.7 which tells that these items are a little too easy.Only one items facility value is about 0.3. So we can say that on the whole the paper is easy for the students to do. The final scores also shows the result of the graph. Graph 2.Difficulty of the objective items.2)DiscriminationGraph 3. Discrimination of the objective items According to the graph above ,about a half items discrimination is about 1.0 ,13 itemsdiscrimination is about 0.2 and the rest items discrimination is between 0.4-0.8.
