Have Ss guess the names of the stories (The stories are: Pan Gu separates the sky from the earth, Change flies to the moon, Jin Wei fills the sea, Wu Song fights the tiger, Journey to the West ,Yu Gong Moves a Mountain, Hou Yi Shoots the Suns, Nu Wa Repairs the Sky)Work on 1a1. Have Ss match the story with the pictures a-d in 1a._ Journey to the West _ Yu Gong Moves a Mountain_ Hou Yi Shoots the Suns_ Nu Wa Repairs the Sky2. Check the answers Watch a video1. Show Ss a video about Yu Gong Moves a Mountain. Ss try to understand the meaning 2. Show Ss some pictures and ask some questions about the story. Help Ss know the main idea of the story in English. Questions:(1) -When did the story happen?-Once upon a time. (2) -Who was he? -Yu Gong. (3) -What were the two mountains like?-High and big. (4) -Where would they put the earth and stone? -Into the sea. (5) -What did the man say to Yu Gong? - You cant move the mountains. Step 3 Listening practiceWork on 1b1. Listen and check () the facts you hear in 1b. Which story are Anna and Wang Ming talking about?_The two mountains were very high and big. _A very old man tried to move the mountains._A man told Yu Gong that he could never do it.2. Listen once, Ss write down the answers and check in the whole classWork on 2a&2b1. T:Do you know what happened next and whats the end of the story? Lets come look at some pictures to know the rest of the story about Yu Gong .2. Predict the rest story about Yu Gong according to the pictures. Ask some questions and lead the Ss to be familiar with the story and it can help them do the listening parts.Task1 Listen and number the pictures 1-4 in order to tell the story. (Ss get the main idea of the story) 1. Play the recording and students number the pictures.2. Check the answers. Task2 Listen again and circle the words you hear.(listen to the details)1.
