Every time I listen to your advice, I get into trouble.by the time:“在之前或到时候”，强调的是“一个动作在另外一个动作之前已经完成”，因此，by the time后边接从句，而与其搭配的主句要用完成时态。 A. By the time they arrived, we had already left. B.
