Module 8 Choosing presentsUnit 1 I always like birthday parties. 教材分析1. This module is an important and useful lesson. Make the Ss learn some key words and phrases to describe their birthday. Enable them to know the cultural difference. Therefore, this lesson plays an important part. 2. This is the first period of Module8. Its the part of the Lead-in. So if the Ss can learn it well, it will be helpful to make the Ss learn the rest of this unit. “birthday” is a very good topic. Such a topic is helpful to raise learning interests of students and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English. 教学目标【知识目标】1. To study the new words: birthday, sing, cake, present, party, card2. To learn some phrases about birthday: eat birthday cake ,eat noodles, get presents, have a party, get birthday cards, sing Happy Birthday, cut birthday cake【能力目标】1. To develop the Ss abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.2. To train the Ss ability of self-taught, working in pairs and groups.3. To develop the Ss abilities of exploring and communication.【情感目标】1. To make Ss know something about the birthday culture.2. Let Ss know they should love and enjoy their life. 教学重难点【教学重点】1. To help Ss grasp the new words and phrases.2. To help Ss master the adverbs about frequency.3. To enable Ss to study and explore by themselves.【教学难点】How to use the words and phrases to describe their birthdays. 课前准备 Tape recorder, Multimedia 教学过程Step 1. Warming upShow some photos of a birthday party and have a short dialogue with the students.Step 2. Vocabulary1.Show some pictures to introduce new words.2.Focus on the important words and difficult words.3.Encourage students to make up sentences with these words.Step 3. Prelistening1.Play a game. Let students say the words and expressions about birthday as many as possible in groups. The group which says the most will win.2. Listen and number the words as you hear them.Step 3. Listening1.Let the students do some easy exercises. 2.Ask the students to listen to the dialogue and check the true sentences in Activity 3.3. The students read the dialogue for five minutes and finish Activities 45.4. Let the students close the textbook and practice the dialogue in groups. 5. Choose two groups to act out the dialogue. Would you like to come to my birthday party?Yes, Id love to.Would you like? 常用来向对方提出有礼貌地请求、邀请等,意为“你(们) 想要/ 愿意吗?”其肯定回答多用Yes, please. / Yes, Id love to.等,否定回答多用No, thanks. / Id like to, but I have to 等。2.She never wears jeans or trainers. 她从不穿牛仔裤或软运动鞋。never是个否定词,用于行为动词之前,构成否定句,否定句中的并列一般用or不用and。3. We sometimes give birthday cards. 我们有时候给生日贺卡。give意为“给,送”,常构成固定短语give sb sth或give sth to sb ,意为“给某人某物”。类似的动词还有send, sell等。如:I often send my friends emails. = I often send emails to my friends.4. My mother never makes a birthday cake.我的妈妈从不做生日蛋糕。make sb sth表示“给某人制作某物”,相当于make sth for sb。有类似用法的动词还有buy等。Step 6. Speaking1.Say what you always / usually / often / never do on your birthday. eat get give go have make2.Check the sentences with a partner. Step 7. Pronunciation1. Play the tape of Activity 6 twice and tell the students to listen and pay attention to the pronunciation. Then, play the tape once more and pause for the students to repeat. Step 8. Work in pairs1. Ask and answer questions about birthday. 2. Encourage the students to use the structure “What do you often/usually/always do?” to talk about birthday.Step 9. Grammar1.动词第三人称单数词尾变化三种形式:(1) 一般动词在词尾加-s,-s在清辅音后读s,在浊辅音或元音后读z,ds读dz,ts读ts。如:help helps,know knows,get gets,read reads(2) 以字母s,x,ch,sh或有些以o结尾的动词加-es,-es读iz。如: guess guesses,fix fixes, teach teaches,wash washes go goes,do does(3) 以辅音字母+y结尾的动词,先变y为i,再加-es,-ies读iz。如:carry carries,fly flies注:在play plays,say says中,字母y前为元音字母,第三人称单数形式直接在动词后面加-s。(4)特殊词例外。如:be is,have has2. 写出下列动词的第三人称单数形式Step 10.
