湖北英语教学网Go for itUnit 11 What do you think of game shows?一、设计理念以学生为主体,以任务为主线,重视学生的体验和参与,通过各种活动使学生在轻松、和谐的气氛中学会如何用英语表达自己对某个电视节目、人以及事物的态度和看法,倾听并转述他人对人、事的态度和看法,且能运用已有的语言知识简单阐明理由;培养学生的主动思维能力,让学生真正实现语言学习的最终目标学了就用。二、教学目标1、语言目标 掌握部分有关电视节目以及表示装饰的词汇,如:soap opera, sitcom, sports show, host, super, agree, hair clip, key ring, belt, wallet etc. What do you think of? 句式在不同人称中的使用及其几种不同的答语方式,并能简单陈述理由。 掌握运用love, like, dont like, dont mind, cant stand恰当表达对有关事物的观点和态度。2、能力目标 学会陈述自己的看法和意见。 学会谈论自己的喜好。 谈谈流行文化,了解各类电影和电视节目的名称。 了解一些日常生活用品,描述对其喜好程度。3、策略目标利用不同媒体获取相关的学习资源,通过合作、探究的方式学习;学会正确评价自己的学习行为和学习效果。4、情感目标 学会客观地评价事物。 正确表达自己的意见。 正确认识流行文化。 了解中西文化在表达自己的观点时存在很大差异我们比较委婉,而西方人则更直接一些。三、教学策略 发散性思维训练策略,启发式教学法和讨论法。 任务型活动设计教学策略 兴趣教学策略,其中包括游戏、表演、对话和歌曲。 交际教学法。 情景教学法。 合作学习策略。四、教学重点、难点1、重点学习及掌握陈述自己的看法,意见及喜好的词汇和基本句型。2、难点正确运用What do you/does he/she think of?及I love/like/dont like/dont mind/cant stand . He/She loves/likes/doesnt like/doesnt mind/cant stand .等句型结构来表达对客观事物的评价。五、教学建议 (课时及内容建议)本单元建议用四课时来完成。Period One : Section A: 1a1cPeriod Two : Section A: 2a 4Period Three : Section B: 1a 2cPeriod Four : Section B: 3a4, Self checkPeriod OneStep1 Warming up学生观看Movie。观看Movie,引起学生的兴趣,促使学生尽快进入英语状态,同时也作为一个lead in的活动。Step2 Presentation(1)1. 由Magic English的观看,提出“Do you like Plutos music?”及” What do you think of Plutos music?”引出话题。2. 在多媒体上呈现电影“Harry Potter”等学生们熟悉的电影Posters,谈论对这些影片的喜好,句型结构如下: What do you think of ? I dont mind it. I dont like it. I cant stand it.3. 借助2中的Posters,运用what kind of movies do you like?及What do you think of?练习复数状态下的结构。话题贴近学生生活,学生能运用已有的知识进行交际,并自然地运用新的知识点交际。导入由易而难,遵循语言习得的规律Learning by doing第一层次的机械操练。Step3 Practice在多媒体上呈现一些现象,如随地吐痰、打架、乱扔废纸、排队候车等等,进行巩固练习。第二层次的模仿操练,同时进行了一次有效的moral education。Step4 Presentation(2)1. 由社会现象进入周末活动的谈论,what do you usually do on weekends?当有学生谈到watch TV时,开始介绍电视节目的种类,播放电视节目的片断或图片。表达对各种电视节目的看法,可供选择的电视节目有:Talk shows, game shows, sports shows, soap opera, sitcom2. Do 1a and 1b新的语言点不集中在一起呈现,把他们分散开来,有助于学生掌握。熟悉节目名称。Step5 Pair work就电视节目谈论彼此的观点,做pair work前,老师要先给学生一两个model,然后学生有准备过程,再进行pair work show。练习的面广,给一般的同学创造安全的课堂。Step6 Guessing game(可用各种不同的计时方式)老师陈述TV shows的情景,如:1A man is playing basketball.(sports show)2A funny show. The people on TV do or say things that make TV watchers laugh.(sitcom)调节气氛,缓和学生的视觉及听觉疲劳,培养学生的判断力和信息的捕捉能力。TV showsStep7 TaskTV shows survey学生可以在四人小组内,也可以离开座位询问其他同学,完成表格,再进行report。NamesCCTV NewsWeather reportTell it like it isSoap OperaFootball NightLucky 52Report:My friendlikes. He/She also likes. But he cant stand提供的任务:学了英语就是为了运用英语。Step8 Homework1.Copy the new words and new sentences.2.Make your report better.3. Survey what your family think of different TV shows, and make a new dialogue about that with your partner.课堂任务活动向课外延伸,同时课外作业贴近学生生活,激活了学生的兴趣和创新精神。Period TwoStep1 Warming up : ChantWhat do you think of talk shows?I dont mind them.What about game shows?I love them.Do you like sitcoms?Yes, I do.Chant的目的既能引起兴趣,朗朗上口,又能培养学生的语感。Step 2Revision: Dialogue show time注:1. Dialogue show后要鼓励学生给予comments。可以引导学生在以下几方面评价:What do you think of their dialogue? Body language pronunciation intonation2.如有许多Pairs想上来show,可以用一个chant确定:1,2,3,4 Mary is at the kitchen door.5,6,7,8 Mary is at the garden.作业有布置,有检查,给学生一个展示的平台、学生的评价,旨在引导学生认真倾听及学会评价。学生会饶有兴趣的。Step 3Presentation1. Listen and do 2a, 2b. 借助Dialogue show 及过渡句“Have you seen the sitcom Dumpling King引出听力2. 做完2a,2b后,问:What does he think of Dumpling King?What does he think of Er Bao Xiao Bao ? Sitcoms呈现新的句型。承上启下新的知识点自然呈现,不着痕迹,机械操练。Step 4Information exchangeStudent A looks at one paper, student B looks at the other paper.(Dont look at his/her partners paper)运用句型结构:What does Alan/Yang Lin think of these TV shows?交流信息。表格如下:Student AEnglish Today Sports NewsHealthy livingChinese cookingAnimal worldYang LinLikesDont mindAlanLovesdoesnt likecant standStudent BEnglish Today Sports NewsHealthy livingChinese cookingAnimal worldYang LinLovesdoesnt likecant standAlanLikesdont mind信息交流达到第二层次的操练。Step 5 Task(1):Weekend Talk show学生三人一组,分别扮演角色 host/hostress和guests,电视访谈节目的演示,谈论对不同TV shows的看法,但老师先要给予Talk show的model。A: Welcome to 9 oclock weekend Talk show. Were talking to.Welcome to the showB: Thank you.A: Do you like to watch TV?B: A: What do you think of sports shows?B: A: How about?B: A: OK! Thanks for joining us. Next, were talking to学生亲历访谈节目,会很有兴趣,同时也是综合运用所学语言知识的平台。Step 6Task (2):Survey time列举常见TV Shows的名称,调查并统计班内同学对各种节目的观点。四人小组以统计图表的形式(学生可以creative一些,设计各种统计图表)呈现结果,再给TV station写一封调查报告,并提些建议。统计时,增加句型:I do, too. Finish your diagram and stick on the board.2. Finish writing the letter to the TV station.任务型活动要有成果,而且成果的展示形式需要多样化。 Period ThreeStep 1Warming upEnjoy an English song.这一步旨在给学生营造一个轻松愉快的学习英语的氛围,同时也为下一步呈现句型做好铺垫。Step 2Revision1T shows some pictures of singers and asks: “What do you think of him/her/his songs/her movies?” Get the students to answer : “I love/like/dont like/dont mind/cant stand .”2Get the students to work in pairs, ask and answer like this: “What does your father/mother/sister/think of ?” “He/She loves/likes/doesnt like/doesnt mind/cant stand ”联系生活实际,选择当前最受中学生欢迎的超级女声、周杰伦等话题,既使学生感受到了英语课的乐趣,又复习操练了有关陈述自己及转述他人对客观事物进行评价的句型。Step 3Presentation and practice1.课件展示:sunglasses, belt, wallet, key ring, watch, scarfT: Whats this in English? / What are these? What do you think of ?Ss: I love/like/dont like/dont mind/cant stand .”2.Let the Ss finish 1a. 课件展示,Check the answers.3.Class work: How many of these things do you have? Get some Ss to tell the class.4.Listen to the tape and finish 2a, 2b. Then get some Ss to say sth. about Carol and Paul like this: “Carol loves . Paul doesnt mind .”5.实物展示:Pair work: What do you think of the belt/sunglasses/? What does your father/mother/ think of your scarf/belt?让学生自由评价这些物品,以此呈现新单词,同时再次操练了有关谈论喜好的句型。可以选用教师和本班学生的生活用品,及时巩固所学的生词;同时评价自己的东西,联系自己的生活实际这是学生最感兴趣的话题,让学生真正体会到学以致用的目的。Step 4Group work1.Teacher shows some different kinds of school uniforms and asks : “ What do you think of your school uniforms? If you have a chance to choose your school uniforms, what kind would you like to choose?”2.Discuss in groups.3. Get some Ss to report in class.这一步旨在让学生运用已有的语言知识谈论对事物的看法和意见,并简单阐明理由,培养学生的主动思维能力和运用英语的能力。Step5 Survey Time1.T: Do you know your classmates well? What are his/her likes/dislikes? Get the Ss to make a survey in class.2. Get some Ss to report in class.不仅让学生运用了本堂课所学的语言知识,同时也对学生进行了德育,加强学生间的相互了解,增进同学间的友谊。Step 6HomeworkAsk your friends about what they think of different subjects and write them down.开放型的作业代替机械、枯燥的抄写,培养学生的主动思维能力,又让学生真正实现语言学习的最终目标:学了就用。Period FourStep 1Warming up观看动画: Just for Fun!这一步旨在营造一种轻松愉快的学习氛围,同时为下一步做好了铺垫。Step 2Revision1. T: What do you think of the cartoon ? (T S)2. 课件展示:不同的事物。 Pair work: What do you think of the scarf/belt/? I love/like/dont like/dont mind/cant stand .”由开头的动画片引出句型 What do you think of ?通过师生互动、生生互动复习有关表述自己及他人喜好的句型。Step 3 Presentation: Reading(3a)1先让学生听录音,回答问题: Who wrote this article? What was the Coolest thing?2学生细读文章,回答问题: What did Maria ask the students about? How many things did she show to the students? What does Jack Smith think of the key ring? Who likes the sunglasses? Did all the students agree with each other? Why did Maria think the coolest thing was the best?由问题引出新单词: fashion 、article等 3 . Listen to the tape and repeat.培养学生的听力及阅读理解能力。Step 4 Task (1): Writing1、运用自己的观点Complete a letter to Maria. (完成3b) Fill in the blanks.2、Ask some Ss to report in class.让学生运用所学的语言知识,系统地表达对某些事物的态度和看法。Step5Task (2): Listening , reading and writing1、G
