Its much too small for him.Teaching methods: The audio-lingual method Teaching aids: CAI , Blackboard Teaching Procedures:Step 1. RevisionShow some pictures to review the pattern:-Whose is this?-It must belong to sb. (=It must be sbs.)Ask Ss to practice the conversation.Step 2.Leading-inShow some pictures and ask students to guess -What does he/she do?-She might/could beStep 3.PresentationAccording to the picture, present the usage of “must, could/might,cant ” .Step 4. PracticeUse “must, could/might, cant” to guess and describe some superstars .Ask students to practice the pattern.Eg. She cant be GuoJingjing. She could/might be Wangnan. She must be ZhangYining.Step 5.ListeningListen to the tape and finish 2a and 2b.Teach the new word “hair band”and “possibly” in the partStep 6.GamesGuess the thing and use “must be, might/could be, cant be” to fill thedialogue .Have s to play the game. Then ask all students to read thesedialogues together.Eg. -Whose blouse is this?-It cant be Marys. Its much too small for her.Step 7.PracticeFinish 2c. Fill in the blanks with “must”, “might”, “could” or “cant”.Then tell your partner why you choose the words.Step 8. Reading Read an article and answer questions.There are five people in Dicks family.
