PHY Status Review DCN174r1The group reviewed DCN174r1 and updated the PHY comments status. A brief summary has been listed below. More information can be found in latest versions of DCN174 or DCN120: 1. General PHY - Apurva (759/760) - PendingZander is to schedule half hour in Nov face-to-fact meeting for discussion and decisions. 2. Sampling Rates - Robert (ID 771) - PendingRobert is not ready for presentation. Ivan commented that it is important to allow the devices/system to be built with low phase noise even using lower cost components. Sung Hyun commented that this issue should consider other implementation aspects as well. The standard time line is also important. The change of sampling rates will cause significant changes to the PHY and affect most of PHY sections. Pros and cons must be well understood and the advantages must be significant enough to justify the change. Gerald commented that sub-channel size, thus CBP and SCH etc would have to be reconsidered as well if such change happens. This topic will be further discussed in Nov meeting.3. Network Synchronization4. Symbol clock frequency tolerance - Steve K. (952) Counter Sung Hyun presented the contribution DCN204 addressing the issue. It was highlighted that the 2% subcarrier spacing refers to 2% of subcarrier spacing in frequency, i.e. 2% of subcarrier spacing 3.348KHz is equivalent to the 66.96 Hz (=0.02*3.348 KHz). It is not correct to relate the 2% in time domain. Therefore the 2% requirement is equivalent to about 0.1 ppm for 700 MHz center frequency (details are in DCN204), which is a very stringent requirement. Sung Hyun also suggested no need to specify the deviation requirement for the symbol clock frequency if the transmit center frequency and symbol clock frequency are derived from the same reference oscillator and the center frequency deviation after synchronization is contained within “2% of subcarrier spacing”. Sung Hyun reminded that the proposed text change will affect resolution in comment 951The group agreed on the text change proposal in DCN 204 and would update comment 951 as well. Zander will inform Steve and Robert (commenters) the change and get feedback if any from them. 5. Short/Long Training Sequences 6. FEC Coding -7. CBP preamble19. Superframe control header (SCH)- Gerald (819) - PendingMonisha reported a problem through email when writing the text proposal. The original text was agreeable to an old similar to 802.11a interleaver. For the new interleaver and symbol mapping (Section ) adopted in the draft 2.0, the block size 720 is not supported in Table 232.Zander will contact John Benko for help. 20. Others (936/968/969/970) 21. Assigned by MAC Team- 330; 338- Winston (322) - CounterText has been updated in DCN 177r2 in the last PHY call. It was confirmed in the call to accept the text change. The note paragraph in DCN177r2 will not be included in the draft, but put in the excel sheet DCN120 for reference. - Sunghyun (343) - Pending Sung Hyun updated that the frequency of updating the UCD message is at most once per 10 sec and could be much less frequen
