When shimeji opens, an icon appears in your tray at the bottom right. click it to make another character appear. right click and a menu pops up. The first option makes another character appear. The second calls all the characters on screen to your cursor (and this is pretty much the only way to activate the sat around the neck animation). Third option merges all the characters on screen into one. fourth option probably tells them not to grab your browser window (Not sure on this, cause I always have my window maximized anyway). The last option quits the program.Customizing: You can trace over these images in the img folder supplied in a program like Photoshop or GIMP. Take care to have clean transparency and not go outside the borders of the image. Also included is an Action for photoshop to quickly fix the edges of the image one at a time. (once you have all 46 images saved, open them all in photoshop and play the action on each one. it saves over your un-fixed version for you)If you cant use this Action, then just do it manually: Convert finished PNG image to index under ImageMode. Then back to RGB. here is a list of the actions in the XML file for an average, 46 frame shimeji, taken from the Google translated version of the file in the order they are in the file. Following are explanations of when/how the animation works, for aid in making custom variations. Hopefully it can help you understand what each frame is for so you can make clever adjustments yourself instead of just tracing.the numbers represent the number of the image from the img folder used. Multiple numbers are the order of frames in that animation for one cycle of the animation. Your images should be named shime(#) for easy identification this way.Actions:Stand 立- 1the idling standing animation.Walking 歩- 1 2 1 3the default waking animation; slow speedRun 走- 1 2 1 3same as above, only fasterRush 猛- 1 2 1 3Again same, only even faster. Consider run and rush good places to try making a custom animationSit 座- 11idle where your character sits down.Sitting looking up 座見上- 26your character looks up.Sat looking up at the mouse 座見上- 26 11your character uses 11 as default, but when your cursor is in a cartainarea, switches to 26 looking upSat around the neck 座首回”- 26 15 27 16 28 17 29 11This one is often made custom; I think the default is your character sittingthere, turning his head/looking up and around. Notice is starts with the looking up at an an angle 26 and finishes with default looking forward 11 It plays when your character is idle/sitting after being called to your cursor.Sit comfortably “楽座”- 30A different sitting pose. It plays as the frame inbetween make feet dangling and standing.Sat down on the foot “足下座”- 31A sitting pose with feet dangling. I assume its for sitting on tops of windowsMake your feet dangling “足”- 31 32 31 33Animated foot-dangling branching off from sat down on the footSprawl “寝”- 21Your character lies down on the ground.Shear shear “”- 20 20 21 21 21your character crawls on the ground. 20 is for winding up, 21 is the idle pose again as your character slides forward.Ceiling “天井掴”- 23it idles while hanging on the the top of your desktop. So, upside down.Go along the ceiling 天井伝”- 25 25 23 24 24 24 23 25it climbs along the top of your desktop, upside down. Note the multiples of frames in the animation; this is for modifying the speed of the climbing, so think of this animation as just 25 23 24 23 (just like walking) if youre going to customize itThe Wall 壁掴”- 13idles hanging onto the side of your windowClimbing wall “壁登”- 14 14 12 13 13 13 12 14Similar to going along the ceiling, only the idle pose 13 is used for more thanjust filler in between the other frames like idle ceiling 23 is. Take this into account when customizingIE has a fall “IE持落”- 36your character stands there holding your internet window if it is not max screened.I think your shimeji can grab any windows program, not just internet exploder; I know mine have taken Windows Live from me beforeIE walking with a “IE持歩”- 34 35 34 36walking holding your internet window. Make note of the empty square area in theseIE action frames; If your are customizing these then take care to have the empty space correct. Take one of these frames from the img folder of the shimeji you areoverwriting to make sure the space is exactly the same in yours.IE run with a “IE持走”- 34 35 34 36same as above, but fasterIE throws “IE投”- 37this is the frame that shows your character throwing the windowJump “”- 22the frame that shows your character jumping to grab the side of a windowFalls “落”- 4the frame that shows your character falling; be careful to make sure your drawing of this frame is consistent with frames 18, 19, 20, 21, i.e., they should all be facing the same directionSpring “跳”- 18 19your character bounces back up after fallingTrips “転”- 19 18 20 20 19it trips and hits the ground. Google translated this as “falls” as well but Im callingit “trips” for differentiation. Make note that frame 19 is used twice here; once for theactual tripping on something, and second time for bouncing back up in the sameway as “spring”. Because of frame 19 being shared in two different contexts (falling and tripping) you cant get too fancy with this tripping animation; you should make sure it matches the falling animation. If frame 4 is your character falling face-down, then they will land on their face in “spring” and trip face-forward on “Trips”. If frame 4 is your character falling face-up, then they will land on their back in “spring” and slip onto their butt in “Trips”. etc.Is pinched “”- 9 7 1 8 10This animation happens when you grab your character and drag him around. It isdependant on what direction your cursor is moving in, so make sure you follow thedirection of the frames in the img folde
