Bill of Rights Blow the Roof OffAs demonstrated by Pam Sua, written by Sara Hacken2. When someone punches the air with their fist and says “Were going to blow the roof off,” stand up and say “Were talking about the Bill of Rights.”3. When someone stands up and says “Were talking about the Bill of Rights,” clap your hands twice and say, “The Bill of Rights is part of the U.S. Constitution.”4. When someone says “The Bill of Rights is part of the U.S. Constitution,” You go to the board in front and write the words “Five Freedoms” on the board.5. When someone writes “Five Freedoms” on the board, stand up, turn around three times, and say “Freedom of religion!” 6. When someone says “Freedom of religion,” snap your fingers twice and shout “Freedom of speech!”7. When someone shouts “Freedom of Speech,” sharpen your pencil as you say, “Freedom of the Press.”8. When someone sharpens their pencil, stand on your chair and say, “Freedom to Assemble”. (stay on your chair)9. When someone stands on their chair and says “Freedom to assemble,” you stand on your chair and say, “Freedom to petition congress for redress of wrongs.” (Stay on your chair.)10. When someone says “Freedom to petition congress,” say “Thats the first amendment,” and join the other two people who are standing on a chair. (Stay standing on your chair.)12. After someone tells people to sit down, say “You have the right to keep and bear arms,” and then go turn the lights off.13. When someone turns the lights off say “Hey, now its dark in here. The second amendment right to have guns also means you have to be responsible with how you use them.”15. When someone says “I hope no one puts soldiers in my house,” turn the lights back on and say, “You are protected against unreasonable searches and seizures.”16. When someone turns the lights back on and finishes talking say, “There are some exceptions to the Fourth Amendment.”18. When someone asks who turned the lights off, go to the back of the room and stare them in the face and say, “They dont have to answer that. They can plead the fifth.”19. When someone says “Plead the fifth,” turn around three times and say, “Do you mean the fifth amendment?”21. When someone says “Grand Jury,” put your hands on your head and say, “You cant be tried twice for the same crime either. Thats Double Jeopardy”.22. When someone says “Double Jeopardy”, go get the people in the back of the room and take them back to their seats. Say “They cant take your property for public use unless they pay you for it.”23. When someone talks about private property, skip to the teachers desk and back to your seat and say, “You have the right to a prompt, public trial.”24. After someone skips to the teachers desk and back and talks about a prompt, public trial, say “Who cares? Ive got a good lawyer and a fair jury,” then bark like a dog.25. After someone barks like a dog, go bow to Mrs. Hacken and thank her for not giving you any cruel and unusual punishments.26. After someone bows to Mrs. Hacken, say, “Hey! We forgot the 7th amendment. We can ask for a jury in civil cases too.”27. When someone talks about a jury in civil cases, start jumping up and down by your seat and say, “I think an $800 speeding ticket is too much. Thats an excessive fine.”28. When someone talks about an $800 fine, say “Stop that jumping. You have other rights, but jumping up and down in class isnt one of them.”29. When someone says “You have other rights,” go erase the board and say “Are you talking about the ninth amendment?”31. When some one talks about the tenth amendment, clap your hands twice and say, “Thats all folks.”32. When someone says, “Thats all folks,” wave your arms over your head and say “Yipee!” 33. When someone says “Yipee!” say “We have a lot of Rights,” and jog in place.34. When someone jogs in place, say “Thats part of the U.S. Constitution. You can stop jogging now” And put your hand over your heart.35. When someone puts their hand over their heart and says “Stop jogging now,” say “Thats the first ten amendments.” Then give a big military salute.36. When someone gives a military salute point to the clock and say, “The game is done. We know our rights. What was our time?”11. When you see three people standing on their chairs say, “Thats the First Amendment,” go to each person standing on their chair and tell them to sit down.17. When someone says there are exceptions to the fourth amendment, go to the back of the room by the computers and say “Who turned the lights off?”20. When someone says “Do you mean the fifth amendment?” run to the front of the room and say “A Grand Jury has to decide if theres enough evidence for a trial.”14. When someone says something about being responsible with guns, point your hands to the sky and say “I hope no one puts soldiers in my house.”30. When someone says something ab
