I pay attention to read the English novel but still feel a little bit confused .To be honest, I hadnt maintained that this book would appeal me before I read it. However, I was absorbed in the book from the first chapter to the last one. And then I saw the movie to help me better understand.The Kite Runner follows the story of Amir, the privileged son of a wealthy businessman in Kabul. Hassan, the son of Amirs fathers servant. The two boys are inseparable. They spend idyllic days running kites and telling stories of mystical places until an unspeakable event changes the nature of their relationship forever which they had never predicted. Amir looks forward to getting fathers love, because he was always ignored, so he wants to get price in annual kite fighting tournament. His loyal friend Hassan is the best kite runner that Amir has ever seen, and he promises to help him - for Hassan always helps Amir out of trouble. But some bad guys want to get the kite too; Hassan was insulted and jeered by them in order to protect the kite. At the same time, Amir hides himself in the corner just look the process when Hassan is beating by others for the sake of himself. his selfish and wants to get fathers love make him betrayed Hassan. But after this matter, he was stuck in deep guilty, he was afraid to see Hassans eyes. He can not forgive himself so he cheated his father to take Hassan out of home. But he even flees to America with his father after that, I could not understand why Amir cheated to make Hassan leave at first, though their “friendship” is complicated. Now I come to know that Amir may try to push Hassan out of the position as a servant. And he wished that they stand in the same line and Hassan can chase for the things wanted by himself. A few years later, Amir becomes a famous writer and through an accidental opportunity he knew Hassan was his brother for they had same father. And Hassan was died in order to protect his house after they went to American. But, Hassan has a baby named Sohrab, he was Amirs nephew. So Amir overcomes difficulties to find him. And take him to America, at last. Amir told his nephew :for you a thousand times over” which was said by Hassan to him many years ago.If Hassan could be described as an angel, then Amir was just a person. I did hate Amir for he watched Hassan be raped and did nothing, for he made Hassan leave his born-place, for he aimed Hassan with fruit（even though he actually tried to make himself get punished）. Amir didnt deserve what Hassan did to him. I thought his meanness caused Hassans tragedy. But after I finished the book, I realized it is not Hassans tragedy, it is Amirs. For what he had done to Hassan, he had led a live with regret and suffered endless sleepless nights. His going back to Afghanistan is not only a journey physically but a journey to atonement. Hassans son, his nephew saved, Amirs sin was finally washed. Like the life of circle, Amir ran kite for his miserable nephew. As Hassan did to him, he said “for you, a thousand times over” to Sohrab.Though the book doesnt give us an accurate ending whether Sohrab came into life again. I am sure love can cure everything. Only when Sohrab lives a happy life as Hassan hoped can Amirs sin washed up.Everyone has his kite and everyone is a kite runner at the same time. We must and have to be brave to take the responsibilities that belong to us and admit the errors we made. We should not betrayal our heart. One should never be too selfish. Just like Hassan, we can learn to be loyalty.
