Unit5 Nelson Mandela教学设计北城中学 姚雁 班级: 高一九班 时间:2017.11.151.高中英语教学现状与新课标要求:目前在高中英语教学中存在的问题主要表现如下:在高中英语的教学中还普遍存在着重知识、轻能力的现象。教学多以教师讲解词汇和语法知识为主,语言输入量偏小,教学中忽视对学生提取信息和处理信息能力的培养,忽视对学生分析问题、解决问题能力的培养,单一的、满堂灌的教学方法和被动的学习方式难以使学生形成听说读写的综合语言运用能力,难以发展学生的思维能力和分析问题、解决问题的能力。新课程标准的三维教学观,具体到英语学科就是要整合发展学生语言技能、语言知识、情感态度、学习策略和文化意识五个方面的素养,培养学生综合运用语言的能力。指出:“教师在教学才过程中应与学生积极互动、共同发展。教师应尊重学生的人格,关注个体差异,满足不同学生的学习需要,创设能引导学生主动参与的教育环境,激发学生的学习积极性,培养学生掌握和运用知识的态度和能力,使每个学生都能得到充分的发展。因此,本课的设计重点是:帮助学生形成自主、合作、探究的学习模式,掌握阅读的一些基本技巧,让每个学生在原有的基础上都学有所得。2.教学背景分析教学内容分析:本节课在本单元中非常重要,因为它是“导入课”也是“阅读课”,能决定学生对本单元的学习兴趣,学习动机,将对本单元学习的成败起举足轻重的作用,同时能很大程度上影响学生的道德观念。这一单元的中心话题是“伟人的品格”,而主要内容是围绕当代英雄“Nelson Mandela”展开的。这一课时主要分为下面几部分:“热身”,引导学生思考伟人应具有的品格,开展讨论,这一部分体现了本单元的功能项目发表意见和评论。“读前”让学生进行小组深入讨论古今中外的伟大人物,并发表意见,让学生进一步了解伟大人物的伟大品格。“阅读”部分从预测开始,引导学生读“Elias”的故事,由“Elias”向我们叙述“Nelson Mandela”的故事,时间是从1952年到1963年。通过使用Skimming,Scanning和Careful reading等阅读策略来帮助学生理解文章。旨在努力培养和提高学生的阅读能力。每个阅读环节紧扣课文,使学生熟读,熟知课文内容。在课文中关注本单元的重点单词,短语及句型。学生情况分析:高一九班学生英语基础差,对英语学习的兴趣不高。因而在课堂设计方面要注重基础和趣味性 。围绕课文内容培养和提高学生的听,说,读,写等能力。努力激发学生们的英语学习兴趣。3.教学目标分析Teaching aims:Knowledge aims:1. Get the students to learn the following words to describe a person: selfless,determined,brave,hard-working,confident,easy-going,generous,kind,honest ,warm-hearted, helpful, responsible, devoted2. Get the students to know the qualities of a great person;3. Get the students to learn about Nelson Mandela.Ability aims:1. Develop the students reading ability and let them learn different reading skills;2. Get the students to learn to grasp the main idea of a text or a passage.Emotional aims:1. Enable the students to know about some great people and learn their noble qualities.2. Get the students to learn from Nelson Mandela to develop their moral quality4.教学重点、难点分析Teaching important points:1. Get the students to know about the qualities a great person should have2. Enable the students to learn about Nelson Mandela;3. Get the students to learn different reading skills.Teaching difficult points:1. Develop the students reading ability;2. Enable the students to grasp the main idea of a text and learn how to describe a person;3. Enable the students to be clear about the structure of a passage.Teaching methods:Task-based teaching and learning,Cooperative learning,Discussion.Teaching aids: 1. The multimedia and the Internet;2. Other normal teaching tools.5.教学过程设计Teaching procedures:Step1: Warming up: Guessing GameFirst, show some sentences describing some famous or great people to ask the students to guess who they are. Show them some adjectives to describe these persons. Then ask the students the following questions: Are famous people also great people? Are great people also famous people? The result of the questions: Great people are important in a long history; famous people are important in a certain time.Famous people :Famous people are important in a certain time.Great people:Great people are important in a long history.设计意图:让学生在轻松愉快的氛围中来进入英语语言的学习,以学生熟悉的人物周杰伦,姚明,白求恩,孙中山,曼德拉等引起话题,使学生能在思考后很容易的对比出Famous people与Great people的区别,顺利导入课堂。Step2:Reading1.Prediction: Ask the students to read the title of the passage and ask them to guess the relationship between Elias and Nelson Mandela.2. Fast reading: Task1: Listen to the tape and try to get the general idea of the text.Task2: Ask the students to read the passage as quickly as they can and find out how to divide the passage into two parts and get main idea of each Part.Part 1: Paragraph(1-2) The life of Elias life before he met Nelson Mandela. Part 2: Paragraph (3-5) The life of Elias life after he met Nelson Mandela and what Mandela did. 3. Scanning: Please find out what happened in Elias life in the following years?1940:(Elias was born .)1946: (Elias began school.)1948:( Elias left school.)1952:( Elias went to Nelson Mandela for advice.)1963: (Elias helped Nelson Mandela blow up some government buildings.)Please read the text carefully and finish the True or False questions and tell why.The students can discuss in groups.4.Careful reading: Answer the questions according to part one and part two.Part one:Information about Mandela: He was a blacklawyer. He offered guidance to poor black people on theirlegalproblems. He wasgenerouswith his time.Information of Elias: He wasa poor blackworker. It was in 1952 and Mandela was the black lawyer to whom I went for advice. He was generous with his time, for which I was grateful.Part two:1.Why did Elias leave school so early?2.What problem did Elias have to keep his job?Part three-five: 1.How did Nelson Mandela help Elias ? 2.How did Elias support Mandela? 3. What problems did the black people like Elias have at that time?4.Why did Elias support violence when he did not like it?设计意图:利用Prediction引发学生对课文的兴趣,同时让学生克服畏难情绪,以准备好的心情去进行学习。通过Skimming阅读策略使学生对文章大意有通篇的了解。在掌握了全文大意后,用Scanning的阅读策略让学生熟悉文章中重要的年份,学生也更加了解Elias的具体情况。Careful reading能进一步帮助学生理解全文,深入地学习课文,更好地掌握新的词汇和短语,充分提高英语阅读技巧和能力。Step3: Discussion:1.What can we learn from the text about Nelson Mandela?2.What qualities do you think a great person should ha
